WBCP Brings Looney Tunes and Hanna-Barbera Apparel to Forever 21 Stores

WBCP Forever 21Forever 21, in partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP), has launched a collection of limited-edition women’s, men’s, and children’s apparel and accessories featuring classic Looney Tunes and Hanna-Barbera animated characters. The WB x Forever 21 collection was designed and curated by apparel maker Jerry Leigh in partnership with WBCP.
The 44-piece line includes sweaters, T-shirts, tank tops, cropped tops, socks, and lounge wear featuring Warner Bros.’ animated characters such as Bugs Bunny, Tweety, Scooby Doo, The Flintstones, and more. The limited-edition collection will launch globally in stores and on on November 28.

Brand Central LLC to Create a Line of Kikkoman Products

KikkomanKikkoman Corp., with its master agent, Tact Communications Inc., has signed Brand Central LLC as its licensing agency to extend the brand’s product categories in North America. Brand Central will initially focus on Kikkoman-branded products including woks, kitchen textiles, Japanese cutlery, and apparel.

NBA and FIBA to Host Basketball Without Borders Global Camp

NBAThe National Basketball Association (NBA) and the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) will host a Basketball Without Borders (BWB) Global Camp as part of NBA All-Star 2015 in New York City. The inaugural camp will be held February 13 to 15 at Baruch College in Manhattan. Nike will be the official partner.
The camp will connect the top 40 players born in 1997 from Africa, the Americas, Asia/Pacific, and Europe with select NBA, WNBA, and FIBA players and coaches. The campers will also attend the BBVA Compass Rising Stars Challenge and participate in additional All-Star activities.
As part of the league’s efforts to reach half a million youths throughout the five boroughs with fun, fitness-related basketball activities, BWB Global campers will take part in the NBA FIT Celebration and work side-by-side with NBA, WNBA, and FIBA players and legends to host basketball and fitness clinics.  The campers will also participate in a life skills seminar addressing essential health-related issues.
BWB, the NBA and FIBA’s global basketball development program, has reached more than 2,200 campers from 120 countries and territories, with 33 BWB campers drafted into the NBA.
Nike, a BWB global partner since 2002, will outfit the campers and coaches with Nike apparel and footwear.

CBS and Desilu, too Launch I Love Lucy Online Superstore

cbsCBS Consumer Products and Desilu, too LLC have launched an official I Love Lucy online store based on the iconic TV show. The site will be the new home of official I Love Lucy apparel, novelty items, décor, limited-edition collectibles, and more.
For the holiday season, fans can celebrate the “12 Days of Lucy” with 12 themed gifts, including stocking stuffers, ornaments, and more.
The website launch coincides with a rebroadcast of The I Love Lucy Christmas Special on December 7 at 8pm ET/PT on CBS.


Licensing, Broadcast for Wild Kratts Expands

Wild KrattsWild Kratts, the animated adventure series from Kratt Brothers Co. and 9 Story Media Group, has reached the No. 1 spot for kids ages 4 to 8 and kids ages 6 to 11 across all networks. The performance of the brand also extends to toys and books.
Master toy licensee Wicked Cool Toys has launched a toy offering at Toys “R” Us,, and New items for next year include a Tortuga play set deluxe power suit with sound, as well as hero and villain packs. The new items were on display at the Dallas Fall Mass Market Preview and will be available next fall. Random House Kids has also released the first Wild Kratts book in the U.S. and Canada.

Jakks and Nerd Corps Extend Slugterra Partnership

slugterraNerd Corps Entertainment announced that its toy partner Jakks Pacific has extended its contract for the boys’ action property Slugterra.
Jakks Pacific’s Slugterra toyline launched in the U.S. in February 2013, several months after the series premiere in October 2012. Originally consisting of collectible slug figures, blasters, and darts, Jakks has since expanded its offerings to include human action figures, vehicles, plush, and stretchy velocimorph flyers, as well as new styles of blasters and darts and several waves of new slug figures.
The toys have launched in dozens of countries to date, with more coming as the series continues to launch on new broadcasters in new territories. The ongoing global rollout of the line has built a story of consistent success and has been well received by retailers.
“We are excited to be teaming up with Nerd Corps for another incredible year of Slugterra,” said John Blaney, executive vice president, marketing, Jakks Pacific. “This interactive line has been a favorite both domestically and internationally and we look forward to creating new, innovative, and exciting toys for Slugterra fans everywhere.”


Toei Animation and Sanrio Partner for Hello Kitty/One Piece Product Line

toeiToei Animation Europe has partnered with Sanrio GmbH to unite Hello Kitty and One Piece for a European licensing program. At its center is the creation of a product line joining One Piece’s “Chopper” with Hello Kitty for a co-branded licensing program managed by Sanrio GmbH.

Saban Signs with MerchANT

Saban Brands has signed an apparel on-demand deal with merchANT, a London-based tech start-up and licensing company, for Power Rangers.
The Power Rangers merchMAKER launched on 13th November 2014 and allows fans to create their very own personalised Power Rangers merchandise, using merchANT’s interactive and collaborative personalization system. Power Rangers fans in the UK and Ireland are now able to choose from a huge range of clothing and accessories to customize with their favourite Power Rangers images, quotes and their own name to create a “one-of-a-kind” product.

King Rollo Signs Development Deal for Deer Little Forest

Deer Little ForestKing Rollo Films and Koko Media have signed an animation development deal for Jo Rose’s original IP, Deer Little Forest, signalling an important step in the growth of the preschool brand.
King Rollo Films will work with creator and Henries Award-nominated illustrator Jo Rose to produce a 45 second animated clip and TV show bible, for a 26 x 11 minute preschool show.
Leo Nielsen, Founder and President of King Rollo comments “Now and again you come across a pre-school property that makes your heart beat a little faster – Deer Little Forest is one of those! We can’t wait to bring this fantastic set of characters to life.”

Q Pootle 5 in Christmas Special

Q Pootle 5Following the success of the first series of Q Pootle 5, Snapper Productions has agreed a deal with CBeebies which will see the channel acquire the UK rights to Q Pootle 5 Christmas special: Pootle All The Way. The 27 minute extended episode will air as part of the channels Christmas line-up. 
Ben Butterworth, Snapper Productions, says: “We love Christmas. Having the opportunity to create an extended length episode with the fun, excitement and heart of so many children’s favourite time of the year was a real joy and privilege. What better place to enjoy Christmas on television with your little ones, than CBeebies!”
The British Animation Awards nominated series launched on CBeebies in July 2013. Since its launch, the series has performed above the slot average for its first runs. It has also has been sold to 70 countries worldwide.
The one off special (1 x 27’) is produced by Snapper Productions with animation by BAFTA-award winning animation studio Blue-Zoo. It has been acquired for CBeebies by Kay Benbow, Controller of CBeebies, and Jackie Edwards, Executive Producer for the BBC. The series is distributed by ZDF Enterprises.
