Feld Entertainment, Sesame Workshop Partner to Develop Sesame Street Live Shows

Feld Entertainment Inc. and Sesame Workshop partnered to develop Sesame Street live show tours. Feld Entertainment will produce and tour live Sesame Street productions in the U.S. The first production under the new deal is slated to launch next October.  The current Sesame Street Live! tour will continue through the summer.
The company will build and rehearse Sesame Street shows at Feld Entertainment Studios. Feld’s team will execute local marketing and sales plans throughout North America. Additionally, Feld will develop a line of consumer products to enhance the live experience. 

Toy of the Year Finalists Unveiled

One hundred finalists for the prestigious 2017 Toy of the Year (TOTY) Awards have been unveiled by the Toy Industry Association (TIA). 
Between now and January 15, 2017, consumers can visit to vote for their favorite toy picks in each of the 14 categories – including new categories for 2017, such as Action Figure of the Year, Doll of the Year, Rookie of the Year, and Vehicle of the Year. The TOTY winners will be announced in February.
“This year’s TOTY finalists represent the finest examples of play value, originality and innovation across the hundreds of companies that make the U.S. toy industry the strongest in the world,” said Steve Pasierb, president & CEO of the Toy Industry Association. “Perhaps most importantly, these outstanding nominees have brought joy, laughter and learning to millions of children and families around the globe. We send each TOTY finalist good wishes and look forward to honoring the top toys of the year at the TOTY Awards gala in just a few months!”

LEGO Dimensions Adds New Expansion Packs

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced the release of six expansion packs for LEGO Dimensions, led by the Sonic The Hedgehog Level Pack and the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Story Pack.  
All expansion packs in this latest wave feature Battle Arenas with split-screen local gameplay for up to four players. LEGO minifigures included in the expansion packs come with golden Toy Tags, which unlock a free play Adventure World of the corresponding entertainment brand, as well as a battle arena that can be reached through Vorton.
The Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Story Pack includes six levels and new LEGO Gateway bricks to build the Magical Congress of the United States of America (MACUSA). Players can build the Newt Scamander LEGO minifigure and the pack also comes with the Niffler, which can be rebuilt into the Sinister Scorpion and Vicious Vulture. The Sonic The Hedgehog Level Pack allows players to build the Sonic the Hedgehog LEGO minifigure. The pack also includes a 3-in-1 Sonic Speedster, which can be rebuilt into Blue Typhoon and Motobug, and a 3-in-1 The Tornado, which can be rebuilt into Crabmeat and Eggcatcher.
Other expansion packs include the Gremlins Team, the E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial Fun Pack, and a Fun Pack based on Cartoon Network’s Adventure Time

The New Bullseye Quiz Book Launched

Igloo Books is recognising the enduring appeal of Bullseye by publishing a new quiz book based on the legendary gameshow.

The new book, which comes complete with a magnetic dartboard and toy darts, is on sale now across Asda, Martin McColl, the Coop, the Book People and Eason in Ireland. With the book registering very strong sell-through numbers across retail, this will mark the first of a number of planned lines from Igloo which adds to an existing programme – established by licensing agent Bulldog - that includes Bullseye-branded biltong, apparel and gaming products.

Entertainment One Prepares to Launch PJ Masks Merchandise in France

Entertainment One (eOne) will launch a line of PJ Masks merchandise in France. France TV Distribution will manage the consumer products program for PJ Masks in the region, which will debut at mass-market and specialty toy stores this January. The range will include additional categories that will roll out next fall.
Giochi Preziosi will distribute Just Play’s master toy line, which will include action figures, play sets, vehicles, plush, dress-up, and role-play. The merchandise program will be expanded next year as Paris-based footwear licensee, Royer, introduces a line of PJ Masks kids’ footwear. In addition, ATM is now on board for back-to-school accessories and will roll out its range in 2018. Additional partners will be announced for apparel, accessories, games, and puzzles.
eOne also recently announced partners due to launch products in the UK this February, including Flair’s Just Play division for toys, Hachette for a publishing line, Aykroyd TDP for nightwear and underwear, and Immediate Media for a magazine. Other international territories are slated to debut merchandise next year. 

Egmont Announces Latest Showcase Issue Featuring Play-Doh

Egmont Publishing, the UK’s leading specialist children’s publisher announces the latest issue of its ‘Showcase’ magazine series, featuring the Play-Doh brand.

Having launched in the 1950’s, the Play-Doh brand has remained a prime choice for building children’s imagination and helping develop their hand-to-eye co-ordination. This popular compound is pliable, re-usable, non-toxic and non-staining, ensuring hours of fun for little ones.

Millimages' Molang Secures New Merchandise Partners

Millimages appointed new licensing agents for its TV series Molang, including Licensing Works! in North America, Licensing Link in the UK, O + Media in Russia and CIS, Word of Web in Scandinavia and Poland, and Mediogen in Israel.
Key product categories include master toys from Jazwares in North America and throughout Latin America. Other partners in North America include Children’s Apparel Network for master apparel; Berkshire Fashions for winter and rainwear, caps, and accessories; Komar for girls’ sleepwear; Intimo for underwear; Jay Franco as master licensee for bed and bath, linen, and beach products; Riley Blake for fabric and fabric craft kits; and Accessory Innovations for bags, lunch totes, and luggage.
TOMY will be the master toy licensee in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. In addition to TOMY, other first wave partners in Europe include Aykroyds & TDP textile for nightwear and underwear and Flammarion Jeunesse for publishing.

Jurassic World: The Exhibition Opens Its Gates at The Franklin Institute in Philadelphia

Jurassic World: The Exhibition will open on Nov. 25 at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia. Guests can visit the exhibition in the Nicholas and Athena Karabots Pavilion and the Mandell Center at The Franklin Institute through April 23, 2017.
Guests will walk through the Jurassic World gates to explore the park through a guided tour. Once onsite, visitors will experience the Gentle Giants Petting Zoo, step into The Hammond Creation Lab, and get a preview of Jurassic World’s top-secret project, the Indominus rex.

JAKKS Pacific Bringing Boo Products to Market

Knockout Licensing has announed that JAKKS Pacific has been granted rights to manufacture and market a line of pets products inspired by Boo - The World’s Cutest Dog, the social media canine sensation with more than 17.5 million “Likes” on Facebook and over 600,000 “Followers” on Instagram.
“We’ve been approached to do Boo pet products before, but we chose to wait for the right time and right partner,” said Knockout Licensing President Carole Postal. “JAKKS Pacific is the perfect partner because they have proven success in pet products and extensive experience with global brands.”
The Pets Division of JAKKS is planning a line of Boo branded Dog Toys (featuring Boo’s world-famous likeness and/or specially designed for small dogs) as well as Dog Apparel, Dog Beds, and Dog Blankets.

Knockout Licensing has announced Wonder-Shirts as the first North American licensee for the smartly stylish period television series “Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries.”
“We’re so happy to finally be able to tell Miss Fisher’s American fans that the officially licensed merchandise they’ve been asking for is now available,” says Knockout Licensing President Carole Postal.

Toei Animation Names Licensing Agents in Spain and Italy on Eve of Dragon Ball Super’s Television Debut

As Toei Animation Europe prepares for the television debut of Dragon Ball Super in Spain and Italy, two new agents have been named to represent the iconic brand’s developing consumer products program, it was announced by Ryuji Kochi, President of Toei Animation Europe S.A.S.
Dragon Ball Super, the newest Dragon Ball series from original creator Akira Toriyama, is set for a winter launch on Boing in Spain and Italia 1 in Italy. Supporting its highly-anticipated introduction into each market, Toei has named El Ocho Licencias y Promociones (Spain and Portugal) and Starbright Licensing (Italy) as licensing agents for Dragon Ball Super and its classic predecessors, Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z. The comprehensive licensing program for Dragon Ball Super, starting with master toy partner Bandai, will be targeting a new generation of kids and teenagers.

Brand & Deliver Lines Up Partnership for Ghostbusters

Brand & Deliver has secured four brand partners: Dunkin’ Donuts, minicabit, Northern Rail and South West Trains, to support the release of Ghostbustrs on DVD & Blu-ray on 21st November, for client Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.
Thirty years after the original supernatural comedy franchise launched, Ghostbusters returned this summer to save the world with a cast of new characters.
The partnership campaign, running until the end of November, will see Ghostbustrs themed donuts at participating Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in the UK alongside a point-of-sale promotion and a competition on digital channels inviting customers to guess the flavour of the Ghostbusters Slimer Donut.
Northern Rail is offering a holiday to New York through on station posters alongside website and social media promotion. A bespoke competition microsite will be promoted on South West Trains’ digital channels, including the on-train and on-station wifi landing pages, giving customers the chance to win a Sony TV, home theatre system and Ghostbusters box sets.
In an experiential activation for Halloween, customers of minicabit were offered the chance to be picked up in the Ghostbusters Ecto-1 vehicle in place of their usual cab booking and taken to a famous Halloween-themed London attraction.  The whole experience was captured and content shared on digital and social channels. A filmed 360 video from the car passenger seat as it travelled through London will be seeded on YouTube.

Disney Announces Moana-Inspired Product Range

Disney is revealing a new product collection which will bring the magic of the highly anticipated film Moana to households across the country.

GENERAL SUMMARY: Creates strategic direction for active licensee base and negotiates new partnerships within assigned categories to achieve growth objectives.   Directs tactical execution of licensed product lines from concept/line plan through commercialization.  


  • Manage existing licensees in assigned categories: 
    • Evaluate licensee’s quarterly marketing, retail and financial forecasts to ensure licensees on are track to meet established contractual obligations, royalty payments and forecast goals.
    • Organize and run licensee orientations, business reviews, semiannual/quarterly line reviews, and brain storm sessions.
    • Address specific licensee performance issues
    • Negotiate renewals on a timely basis

  • Ensure licensees develop seasonal lines in time for internal seasonal review and develop documents and presentations to communicate licensee’s initiatives to internal Crayola departments
    • Set trend direction and make recommendations for new product entry
    • Direct category research and product concept testing as needed with the consumer insights team
    • Work with creative and product development on design and creative direction for licensed product and packaging
    • Responsible for managing licensee press releases, cross marketing and promotions
    • Ensure adherence to internal approval process (i.e. safety, quality, financial, legal, content, creative, consumer activation, consumer affairs etc.) and assist in resolving issues.
  • Negotiate new licensed strategic partnerships for assigned segments in conjunction with established category strategies
    • Research, secure and develop new licensees building upon the success of existing segments in order to achieve predictable, profitable and sustainable growth
    • Negotiate deal terms including: grant of rights, royalty rates, guarantees, projections and business plans
  • 7 years’ experience in licensing or consumer marketing work for a CPG company.

I have 8 years experience of working for a large London Publishing house licensing book content to third parties. I am looking for a role which utilises my skills in negotiation and relationship building and can develop my experience within the licensing field. Having licensed book content to a wide variety of customers from national Newspapers to international Publishers I would relish the experience to work in a new industry, licensing new content to new clients.
I realise that a move across from traditional publishing may mean a step down from the managerial role I was in before. I'm enthusiastic to work in a new industry and feel my skills are easily transferable and am happy to look outside licensing roles also.
