The NBA Partners with American Express for Digital Destination

American Express and the National Basketball Association (NBA) unveiled their digital destination on, Home Court Advantage. The site will provide fans with the personal insights and stories behind some of the biggest players in the game through exclusive video content, NBA player roundtables, interactive social chats, as well as access to NBA tickets and merchandise, establishing a unique basketball destination for NBA fans.
The new “Home Court Advantage” will be updated regularly with original video series, NBA player roundtable discussions, social conversations about the game, and interesting NBA facts. As an extension of the online destination, American Express and the NBA will bring back their Home Court Advantage pregame show with the Boston Celtics, which debuted last season. This year, the Brooklyn Nets and Washington Wizards will also host similar pregame shows. The pregame shows will be live-streamed on the teams’ mobile apps and team webpages.
As the official credit card of the NBA, WNBA, and NBA D-League, American Express will continue to provide card members with exclusive experiences and access to regular-season and playoff games, along with premier events such as NBA All-Star and the NBA Draft presented by State Farm. Card Members will also be able to participate in NBA-themed hospitality events, behind-the-scenes access, exclusive offers through team partnerships, and opportunities to meet NBA players and legends.

Skylanders’ Eruptor Joins Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

eruptor macy's thanksgiving day paradeActivision’s Skylanders franchise, best-known for bringing physical toys to life, will take flight in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade for the first time. Fan-favorite Skylanders character Eruptor will join the collection of balloons at the parade. Eruptor hails from deep in the underground of a floating volcanic island that launched his entire civilization to the surface after a massive eruption. He is known for being quite the hot head—steaming, fuming, and (literally) erupting over almost anything.
To re-create Eruptor’s smoldering physique, artists used more than 40 gallons of florescent paint and five barrels of glitter. Skylanders fans can catch the broadcast of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day in all time zones on NBC.
The newest game in the Skylanders franchise, Skylanders Trap Team, is now available at retail nationwide on Xbox 360 and Xbox One; PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4; Wii and Wii U; and a unique adventure is also available on Nintendo 3DS. Skylanders Trap Team also ushers in the complete console gaming experience on tablets, introducing a Starter Pack that supports iPad, Kindle Fire, and Android tablets.

Mezco Toyz Acquires Mortal Kombat License

mortal combatMezco Toyz has entered into an agreement with Warner Bros. to create a new series of collectibles based on the Mortal Kombat video game franchise. With cumulative sales topping 40 million games, Mortal Kombat is known for its unique characters, engaging fighting style, and, most notably, its finishing moves.
Mezco is in development on numerous lines based on the world of Mortal Kombat, starting with the upcoming Mortal Kombat X game. Millions of units of the game have already been pre-sold. Initial offerings include 3.75-inch figures, 6-inch scale figures, accessories, bobble heads, plush figures, clip-ons, and key chains.
Additional figures and more details will be revealed at North American International Toy Fair in February. Mezco's Mortal Kombat lines will be available in stores starting in 2015.

KISS Joins 88th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

KISSEpic Rights, representing the merchandising, licensing, e-commerce, and social media interests for legendary rock band KISS—has secured the participation of the iconic rockers in this year’s 88th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, marking their first appearance in one of the most watched events on television.
The special performance by KISS will be led by more than 600 cheerleaders from around the country, paying tribute to the band with a rocking KISS medley. The 88th edition of America’s favorite holiday tradition will begin at 9:00 AM on Thursday, November 27.
Celebrating 40 years of global success this year, KISS is enjoying one of the most prolific periods of their career, invigorated by the band’s recent induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The band is wrapping up the North American leg of its 40th Anniversary tour, culminating with nine nights of KISS Rocks Vegas at The Joint inside Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, and then setting off in 2015 on the European/international leg of the tour.

Chef Fabio Viviani Launches Wine Collection

Viviani WineOn behalf of client Chef Fabio Viviani, the Joester Loria Group has brokered a deal with Sipp LLC  for the Fabio Viviani Wine Collection. Fabio Viviani is the executive chef at several acclaimed restaurants, a NY Times Best Selling Cookbook author, and was named fan favorite on Season 5 of Bravo’s Top Chef reality show. Viviani then went on to Bravo’s Top Chef All-Stars, Life After Top Chef, and currently can be seen on Food Network’s Cutthroat Kitchen: Superstar Sabotage.
Making its debut exclusively at Chicago’s famed grocer, Mariano’s, in November, the initial Fabio Viviani Wine Collection will include a 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon and 2012 Chardonnay. Wines from the Fabio Viviani Wine Collection are derived from California grapes and carefully crafted on a small scale and packaged in eco-friendly bottles with recycled materials. The full bodied Cabernet features notes of cherry, blackberry, plum, chocolate, and coffee, while the refreshing Chardonnay has aromas of golden apple, pear, and peach.
The Fabio Viviani Wine Collection will expand to national distribution and additional varietals beginning in early 2015. Fabio Viviani Wines will retail $13 to $15 per bottle.

Dentsu Signs Fifth Sun, Trends International, and Zwyer for LBX

LBXDentsu Entertainment USA Inc. has signed licensees Fifth Sun, Trends International LLC, and Zwyer Industries to its licensing roster for the animated series, Little Battlers eXperience (LBX). The companies join master toy licensee Bandai America, and its new line of LBX Sprukits models. The LBX franchise follows the adventures of miniature customizable robots and the kids who interact with them. LBX airs every Sunday at 10:00 a.m. ET on Nicktoons, and is supported by a robust LBX show website. 
Fifth Sun is creating a wide variety of boys garments, including T-shirts, thermals, tanks, hoodies, fleece, board shorts, active wear, outerwear, and underwear. Garments will be sold at gift, toy, and specialty stores in time for the holidays. Trends International is manufacturing a series of posters in all sizes and formats that will be available this month. The posters will be sold at gift, toy, and specialty stores, as well as in the Trends boutiques inside Toys ”R” Us, Walmart, K-Mart, and Target. Zwyer has created a hardcover, 80-page glossy art book featuring images from the LBX series. The book will be available next month at comic book stores nationwide.

New Branding Partnerships for KidQuest Learning App

KidQuest has partnered with four new children’s brands: Garfield, Jim Henson’s Doozers, Peep and the Big Wide World, and Fetch! with Ruff Ruffman. This represents the launch of KidQuest’s Partner Program, which provides brands with a way to connect with families through activities featuring their original characters.
The free iOS app is designed to help parents find activities based on the age of their child and time available, and then guide the process with animated step-by-step instructions. It includes dozens of educational crafts, experiments, and activities. Premium content packs are available as purchased add-ons to extend the library of free content.

Healthy Food Brands to Create New Line of Welch’s Healthy Snacks

Healthy Food Brands has partnered with Welch’s to develop and market a wholesome snacking line under the Welch’s brand. Brandgenuity brokered the agreement.
The initial line, which will include freeze dried fruits, trail mixes, and premium dried fruits, will be available at major national retailers beginning next year, with additional better-for-you products to come in the following months.

Motor Trend Expands Market with Superex Partnership

Harris-Sachs LLC has reported that its Motor Trend licensing partnership with Superex has created new markets for both companies, with more than 30 SKUs across various accounts. Sachs expects the products turn faster as they extend the Motor Trend product line.
Motor Trend products manufactured by Superex are currently being sold or contracted to sell in the future by U.S. retailers Running Supply, Radio Shack, Costco, Ocean State, Bi-Mart, Amazon, BJ’s Wholesale Club, and Riebes Auto Parts. Canadian retailers Home Hardware Stores, Tru-Serve, Princess Auto, Costco Canada, Wal-Mart Canada, and Lordco Auto Parts also carry the Motor Trend line.


Daredevil Development and Smallfilms Partner for Bagpuss Mobile App

Daredevil Development has partnered with Smallfilms to launch the first mobile app based on kids' program Bagpuss in a deal brokered by Coolabi.
The new app is designed for kids ages 3 and up with a mixture of 16 educational, creative, and action games based on the original 13-episode British TV series. Each game has three levels of difficulty and progresses with the player to offer a steady learning curve.
The game is available for iOS and Android devices.

Ingo to Produce Frozen Merchandise for Christmas

frozenIngo Devices, a Spanish company, will release this Christmas a line of electronic products with applications (AppToys) based on Disney’s Frozen. 
The Ingo Tablet with Microphone and Disney’s Frozen Karaoke App comes with the latest Android system and all its features. Children will be able to sing original songs from the movie and record their performances so they can share them with their families and friends. This new product will be available in all toy shops and large retailers.

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland is about to celebrate its 150th anniversary. Illustrator Helen Oxenbury’s award-winning edition of Lewis Carroll’s classic tale was first published by Walker Books in 1999 and introduces a more modern Alice for today’s audiences. These illustrations have now inspired new product ranges that bring a contemporary touch to a classic tale.
Interior designer Mary Gannon has teamed up with Walker Books to produce an range of children’s furniture featuring Helen Oxenbury’s colourful cast of characters from the Mad Hatter to the Cheshire Cat to Alice herself. Flame Tree Publishing is also on board and will produce an Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland calendar based on Helen’s artwork for 2016.

Redan Gearing up for Snowman and Snowdog Christmas

RedanThis Christmas, Redan Publishing is releasing a one-off Fun To Learn, The Snowman and The Snowdog Bag O Fun Magazine.
Aimed at children aged 4-9 years old, the 32-page magazine will contain a 16 page work book with reward stickers as well as stories and activities based around Raymond Briggs’ charming Christmas characters. 
In keeping with Redan’s Fun To Learn Bag O Fun format the magazine content will follow the guidelines of the national curriculum’s Early Learning Goals and will be bagged in a festive wrapper along with a limited edition puzzle book, magic painting book and sparkling snow globe.
