Epic Rights Appoints New Licensing Agents

Epic RightsEpic Rights has expanded its international brand licensing with the appointment of six new licensing agents, including Copyright Promotions Licensing Group (the UK, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Germany, France, Italy, Portugal, Spain, and Benelux), Bulls Licensing (Sweden, Finland, Norway, and Denmark), Plus Licens (Central and Eastern Europe), Compañía Panamericana de Licencias (Latin America), Wild Pumpkin (Australia and New Zealand), and Bradford Licensing (India).
Initially, the new partnerships will focus on brand licensing for Epic Rights’ clients, including KISS, John Lennon, Aerosmith, Billy Idol, Jefferson Airplane, Woodstock, and Gary Baseman.

Simon & Schuster to Create Doozers Book Line

Simon & SchusterThe Jim Henson Co. has announced a publishing agreement with Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing to create a line of books based on Doozers, an animated preschool series inspired by the characters from the company’s classic series Fraggle Rock.
The first two Doozers books will be available as paperbacks, library editions, and e-books next fall, with additional titles to debut in 2016.

Wicked Cool Toys, Girl Scouts of the USA Sign for Girl Scout Cookie Oven

wicked coolWicked Cool Toys has entered into a licensing relationship with Girl Scouts of the USA to introduce a new Girl Scout Cookie Oven, as well as a comprehensive line of role-play, craft, and activity products.

The Girl Scout Cookie Oven will feature mixes inspired by popular Girl Scout Cookies, such as Thin Mints, Trefoils, peanut butter, and caramel coconut varieties, as well as traditional classics such as chocolate chip, oatmeal, and brownies.
Wicked Cool’s do-it-yourself (DIY) line of craft and activity kits for girls ages 6 and up is inspired by fun projects Girl Scouts engage in. The line includes offerings such as a string art kit, a jewelry making kit, a collage silhouette kit, a garland making kit, and more.

Wicked Cool Toys expects the line to arrive at mass market retailers throughout the U.S. next fall.

Out of the Blue Enterprises Acquires Colorforms

Out of the Blue Enterprises will launch an extensive new toy line, animated series, and digital apps based on its newly acquired legacy brand, Colorforms. New products in the line are expected to debut at retail next fall, based on brands including Dora the Explorer, Bubble Guppies, SpongeBob SquarePants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Peter Rabbit, Pete the Cat, and Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood.

Lawless Entertainment Represents Surf Sharks Books

Surf Sharks Surf Sharks, a kid’s action-comedy brand created by Chance Wolf, has named Lawless Entertainment as its exclusive representative of content development, production, worldwide TV sales, and licensing/merchandising. 
Lawless Entertainment will develop the Surf Sharks books into a global kid’s entertainment franchise.

Hello Kitty Set to Take Over Los Angeles Restaurants for Hungry Hunt

Hello KittySanrio has partnered with restaurants in Los Angeles to launch Hello Kitty’s Hungry Hunt as part of Hello Kitty’s 40th anniversary celebration.
Starting October 24 and running through November 21, participating venues will offer a Hello Kitty-inspired food or beverage item. Fans and foodies can follow the official Hello Kitty’s Hungry Hunt map to visit each location, including Lollicup Coffee & Tea, Zip Sushi & Izakaya, Xlixe Pizzeria, and more.
Each Hungry Hunt menu item will also include a collectible Hello Kitty’s Hungry Hunt pin featuring Hello Kitty enjoying a different treat from each of the participating restaurants. The pins are available while supplies last. 

Famous Stars and Straps, FCP Collaborate for Family Guy T-shirt Line

FamousFamous Stars and Straps has partnered with Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products (FCP) to produce a limited-edition collaborative T-shirt collection featuring original artwork based on the TV show Family Guy.
The line will feature the Famous Badge of Honor logo blended with characters from Family Guy, along with the traditional Family Guy logo. The collection will be available at Zumies this month.

Vidorra Group to Handle Licensing for Pocoyo 

VidorraIn a deal with Zinkia Entertainment, Vidorra Group will manage and expand the licensing program for the preschool brand Pocoyo in the U.S. and Canada.
The international animated TV show about Pocoyo and his animal friends currently airs in the U.S. in Spanish on Univision, in English on Nick Jr., and on select PBS stations as part of Peep and the Big Wide World.

Outfit7, Mythology Entertainment Partner Talking Tom and Friends Feature Film

Outfit 7Outfit7 Ltd. and Mythology Entertainment have partnered to adapt Outfit7’s Talking Tom and Friends app universe into a fully animated or hybrid live-action/animated motion picture franchise for family audiences. Mythology co-founders Brad Fischer and James Vanderbilt will produce the film, while William Sherak and Outfit7 founder and CEO Samo Login will serve as executive producers.
With 2 billion downloads, Talking Tom and Friends apps currently exceed 230 million monthly active users in more than 230 territories worldwide.

Vandor Creates New Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Line

TMNTVandor LLC has expanded its licensing catalog to include the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with 10 new products. Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael will be available in the form of tin totes, collapsible water bottles, plastic travel mugs, ceramic mugs, and more. The products are available now at major gift markets. 

GreenLight to Create Line of Die-cast Cars Inspired by Gone in 60 Seconds Films

greenlight GreenLight Collectibles has entered a licensing agreement to create die-cast cars inspired by the star car Eleanor from the film Gone in 60 Seconds.
Greenlight will create a 1973 Mustang model based on the original film released in 1974, as well as a 1967 Mustang figure from the 2000 remake. The line will include 1:18-, 1:43-, and 1:64-scale collectible die-cast models, as well as other collectibles.
The model cars will be available through official GreenLight hobby shops and wholesale dealers, as well as select mass retailers such as Toys “R” Us, Meijer, and beginning this month.
Mecum Auctions will sell a limited run of the ’67 Eleanor Mustang in 1:64 scale.

Secret Millionaires Club Brought to International Marketplace

Secret Millionaires ClubGenius Brands International (GBI) has entered new licensing deals with multiple international TV networks and media platforms for its children’s animated TV series, Secret Millionaires Club.
International networks acquiring the series include Finland’s MTV3, Thailand’s Workpoint, Singapore’s Medicacorp, and Israel’s Imagine Media. GBI also announced a deal with Asiana Licensing for home entertainment rights based on the show. 

Upcoming Playboy-Themed Games to Feature Pitbull

PitbullPlayboy Enterprises International brand ambassador Pitbull will work with Bally Technologies on future Playboy-branded gaming machines, which will be available next year.
Pitbull, an international musician and record producer, partnered with Playboy earlier this year in a variety of content, experience, and product-related initiatives. Bally will use its existing relationship with Playboy and Playboy’s new partnership with Pitbull to incorporate his songs and images in future Playboy-branded slot machines and table games.

The World’s Cutest Dog Adds Licensees

In a deal brokered by Knockout Licensing, Boo—The World’s Cutest Dog has added three new companies to its roster of licensors.
ACCO Brands Corp. will produce Boo-themed decorative calendars for next year; PicoCandy will create a line of digital stickers, emoticons, and emojis; and Sock & Accessory Brands Global will create socks, hosiery, and cold weather accessories.

Celebrations Begin for Voltron’s 30th Birthday

Street & Sound CollectionDreamWorks Animation will begin a yearlong celebration paying homage to 30 years of Voltron. The celebration will include fan events, a new Voltron logo, and commemorative apparel, toys, skate decks, and art.

GTech to Develop Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy! Lottery Games 

GTech has entered into a licensing agreement with Sony Pictures Consumer Products to create lottery games based on TV game shows Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune. In addition to instant scratch tickets and draw-based games, GTech will develop second chance promotions and other interactive experiences for lottery customers. 


Masha and the Bear Expands Its Audience

Masha and the BearKids' animated TV show Masha and the Bear continues to expand its audience, which includes more than 100 countries worldwide. The cartoon successfully launched in the UK on Turner Broadcasting’s preschool channel, Cartoonito, in July. 
Ink Global, which represents the broadcasting and licensing sectors for the show, recently signed pan-European deals with Egmont and Simba Dickie for publishing and toys, respectively.
The cartoon chronicles the adventures of a little girl named Masha and the bear who becomes her reluctant playmate. New episodes will begin screening October 13.
