Disney Launches Star Wars AR Event During Force Friday II

Following the global response to Force Friday in 2015, Disney and Lucasfilm will launch Find the Force during Force Friday II. The global augmented reality event will commemorate the worldwide launch of new products inspired by Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
 
The pop-up augmented reality (AR) treasure hunt will take place over three days at more than 20,000 retail locations across 30 countries. As fans turn up to take home new Star Wars: The Last Jedi products, they will have the opportunity to activate an AR experience featuring Star Wars characters, including fan-favorites and new surprise additions from the film.
 
From September 1-3, fans can download the Star Wars App and visit participating retail locations to find a graphic that contains the Find the Force logo. A character will be revealed when users scan the graphic, who will appear in the room through AR. Fifteen characters will be revealed across the program's three-day run.
 
Fans can download the latest version of the Star Wars app now for an early look at the new Porg characters in AR before the AR treasure hunt goes live at retail.

Mattel, Fullscreen Partner to Launch Kids’ Entertainment Brand, Create Hot Wheels Digital Content Innovation Team

Mattel Inc. partnered with Fullscreen to launch Fullscreen Family—a brand-safe video network—and the Hot Wheels digital content innovation team. Through the partnership, the team will focus on creating content to engage a new generation of online consumers across video and social platforms. Additionally, Mattel will develop stronger relationships with online influencers in the kids and family space.

Fullscreen Family is a jointly created video network that will feature a family-focused collection of brand-safe channels for third-party advertisers. Through the partnership, Mattel will increase the amount of premium kids and family content by 61 percent, and reach an estimated 800 million monthly video viewers. 

By organizing the Hot Wheels digital content innovation team, the companies will revolutionize the future of kids and family entertainment on video and social platforms. This partnership allows Fullscreen's content creators to use Hot Wheels' iconography to create more content for the brand. Last year, YouTube content was the strongest driver of incremental Hot Wheels growth.

Hasbro, TripAdvisor Partner to Add Vacations to The Game of Life

Hasbro Inc. teamed up with TripAdvisor to add vacations to The Game of Life game. For the first time in the board game’s 60-year history, players will be encouraged to choose their dream destinations with vacation cards inspired by some of TripAdvisor’s top-ranked family destinations and activities.

The Game of Life’s new vacation card options include a ski trip, a beach day in Punta Cana, hiking the Great Wall of China, and visiting the Eiffel Tower. To celebrate the collaboration, a recent survey conducted by TripAdvisor illustrated how important family travel is to consumers. 

The Game of Life with the vacation updates is available at most major retailers nationwide and on HasbroToyShop.com this month. 

eOne Expands Peppa Pig and PJ Masks Properties in the Nordic Region

Entertainment One (eOne) will expand its Peppa Pig and PJ Masks brands on-air and at retail across Nordic territories. Plus Licens represents the consumer products programs for both of the preschool brands, and will introduce new categories across the region this year.
 
Peppa Pig airs across four terrestrial state broadcasters in Norway (NRK), Denmark (DR), Finland (YLE), and Sweden (SVT). A publishing program is established in Finland, Norway, Otava, and Gyldendal, where Peppa Pig storybooks and novelty formats are available. In Finland, more than 45,000 copies of Peppa Pig books have been sold in three years, and the first published titles will roll out in Denmark and Forlaget Alvilda later this year. Additional categories to launch in the Nordic region beginning this September include Clementoni, Amo, and Barbo Toys for puzzles and games; HAMA for plastic bead sets; and Bjørna for nightlights.
 
PJ Masks launched on TV in Sweden on SVT this April, and airs on multiple slots daily. eOne will expand its audience reach this September with new broadcast partner Fox airing the first season in Finland. 
 
The brand’s first product line will launch at retail this year. Partners include Skybrands for apparel and home textiles; Clementoni for puzzles; Euromic for back to school; Procos for partyware; Stor for tableware; Amscan for Carnival costumes; and Bjørna for nightlights. eOne is currently negotiating a publishing deal for books and a standalone magazine in Denmark and Sweden.

Brand Central Named Exclusive Licensing Agency for Jake Paul and Team 10

Digital influencer brands Jake Paul and Team 10 appointed global brand consumer products agency Brand Central LLC to bring the brands to retail.
 
Jake Paul and Team 10 are currently under one license, and licensees and retailers will develop full product collections. Team 10 consists of Jake Paul, Erika Costell, Nick Crompton, Chance and Anthony, Tessa Brooks, Justin Roberts, Chad Tepper, Alex Lange, the Martinez twins, and Tristan Tales. The members of Team 10 have a combined more than 42 million followers across all social media platforms.
 
The Jake Paul and Team 10 brands currently feature branded merchandise online. Brand Central will broaden the selection and availability of Jake Paul and Team 10 merchandise into a full retail consumer products program across multiple categories.

Requirements:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage existing licensees in assigned categories: 
    • Evaluate licensee’s quarterly marketing, retail and financial forecasts to ensure licensees on are track to meet established contractual obligations, royalty payments and forecast goals.

  • Ensure licensees develop seasonal lines in time for internal seasonal review and develop documents and presentations to communicate licensee’s initiatives to internal Crayola departments
    • Set trend direction and make recommendations for new product entry
    • Direct category research and product concept testing as needed with the consumer insights team
    • Work with creative and product development on design and creative direction for licensed product and packaging
    • Responsible for managing licensee press releases, cross marketing and promotions
    • Ensure adherence to internal approval process (i.e. safety, quality, financial, legal, content, creative, consumer activation, consumer affairs etc.) and assist in resolving issues.
  • Negotiate new licensed strategic partnerships for assigned segments in conjunction with established category strategies
    • Research, secure and develop new licensees building upon the success of existing segments in order to achieve predictable, profitable and sustainable growth
    • Negotiate deal terms including: grant of rights, royalty rates, guarantees, projections and business plans
REQUIREMENTS:

I am looking for a role which utilises my skills in negotiation and relationship building and can develop my experience within the licensing field. Having licensed book content to a wide variety of customers from national Newspapers to international Publishers I would relish the experience to work in a new industry, licensing new content to new clients.
 
I realise that a move across from traditional publishing may mean a step down from the managerial role I was in before. I'm enthusiastic to work in a new industry and feel my skills are easily transferable and am happy to look outside licensing roles also.
