Rubie’s Costume Co. Inc., has partnered with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, on behalf of DC Entertainment, to produce licensed costumes, accessories, and masks inspired by Warner Bros. Pictures’ film, Suicide Squad, opening in theaters on August 5.
Available in teen, adult, and plus sizes, the collection features DC’s super-villains, including Harley Quinn, The Joker, Deadshot, Killer Croc, and Katana. The line also offers specially designed costume kits for fans to transform into their favorite antihero.
The Suicide Squad Collection from Rubie’s will be available this Halloween season.

New CEO for MTW Toys

Darran Garnham has moved from his role at NBC Universal to build a UK team for distributor MTW Toys, an opportunity which he said was “too good not to go for.”
Darran, previously VP of Consumer Products EMEA at NBC Universal, will become CEO of the company, which will act as the exclusive distributor for Thinkway Toys across EMEA.
Thinkway Toys, which was previously handled by Geemac in the UK, is the master toy partner for the Despicable Me franchise and the upcoming Toy Story 4.

The First Thread Launches Felix the Cat Capsule Collection

The First Thread announced the launch of the Felix the Cat capsule collection, featuring Australia’s emerging designers such as Phoenix Keating, Mariam Seddiq, and Nylons amongst others. Felix made his screen debut in the 1919 silent short film Feline Follies.

The collection, Project Design Felix, will launch in Australia, the U.S., Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and Hong Kong on September 1 and retail through The First Thread at

The Felix capsule collection includes a catsuit by Phoenix Keating; a choker, earrings, and a key ring by Nylons (Bianca Censori); an embellished sweatshirt by Mariam Seddiq; cufflinks, a tie pin, and an amulet by Burton Metal Depository (Clara Ho); swimwear by LunarSand (Ruby and Asher Licciardi); leather look embroidered pants by Pizzuto (Suzie Rose Vella); and resortwear by Caslazur.

Neff Partners with Warner Bros.

Neff has announced a partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products on behalf of DC Entertainment to create a limited cobranded collection celebrating the release of Warner Bros. Pictures’ film Suicide Squad. The collection will be heavily focused on The Joker and also featuring Harley Quinn and iconic images from the film, making the products ideal for comic fans and trend seekers.  The line will consist of a limited run of graphic t-shirts with the films iconic characters combined with Neff’s unique design.
Company founder, Shaun Neff commented, “The Suicide Squad vibe really connects with the imagination of our irreverent Neff customer and we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to showcase selected creative elements of this storied DC franchise.”
The Suicide Squad x Neff collection will be available to select retailers mid August.

JLG Launches Waste Management Odor Disposer in Partnership with SciCorp International Inc.

The Joester Loria Group, exclusive licensing agency for Waste Management, has partnered with SciCorp International Inc. for the launch of Waste Management Odor Disposer. SciCorp has helped develop an all-natural odor-eliminating spray to help homeowners and businesses manage foul odors resulting from waste and home composting.

The resulting Waste Management Odor Disposer collection is available in 22 oz. and 1 gallon sizes. This fall, Waste Management Odor Disposer will launch at Canadian Tire and will be available at leading retailers from club and grocery to home improvement and the mass market in the U.S. and Canada.

Indian Agent for Game of Thrones

HBO has announced Black White Orange Brands Pvt Ltd. as its official licensing and merchandising agent in India for Game of Thrones. Black White Orange will help to ensure that Indian fans are not far behind in building their own Game of Thrones memorabilia collections by paving the way for HBO to partner with companies to develop merchandising and retail opportunities for the show in a market that consumes the property on a level at par with international audiences.
Internationally, HBO Global Licensing has created a robust catalog of Game of Thrones products, from conventional categories such as apparel, figures, collectibles and digital games to specialty categories such as special edition board games and a range of craft beers. Black White Orange will represent HBO in India to develop licensed products like apparel, wall décor, drinkware, stationery, and other collectibles.

Petco Introduces New Dr. Seuss Pet Fans Collection

Petco, in partnership with Dr. Seuss Enterprises L.P., has released the latest assortment from the Dr. Seuss Pet Fans Collection. The new items, for both dogs and cats, are inspired by Dr. Seuss’ children’s book, What Pet Should I Get?
Designed with bright colors and based on artwork from the book, the collection includes an assortment of dog and cat products. Rainbow Fish Program Grows

RJM’s Rainbow Fish licensing program has just turned one year old.. In just one year, RJM has taken the Rainbow Fish Licensing program from floundering to becoming one of the biggest fish on the reef. The program has matured into a diverse roster of eleven licensees in markets such as home décor, fabric, plush, and apparel to name a few.
The Licensee Roster is varied and includes Stephan Baby for plush, apparel, melamine, and other key categories; Mindware for board games and activity books;  Wall-Ah! for wall décor; Colonial Needle for needlecraft for pillows and ornaments; Pint Size Productions for a new customizable board book; Litographs for T-shirts and totes; Lakeshore Learning for story telling kits, Marcus Fabrics, Raleigh Arts Theater for a Rainbow Fish themed dance productions and Arts Power for a musical production.
RJM has also initiated a slew of Rainbow Fish promotions. The Parade Company has a licensed Rainbow Fish balloon that appears in America’s Thanksgiving Parade in Detroit, and Marcus Pfister, the author of The Rainbow Fish, will be making appearances in the US. Geek & Sundry Partners with Green Ronin for Critical Role Books

Green Ronin Publishing has signed a licensing agreement with Geek & Sundry to release roleplaying game sourcebooks based on Critical Role, the weekly web series in which eight voice actors come together for an ongoing Dungeons & Dragons game. The books, which will be written by Critical Role creator and Game Master Matthew Mercer, will bring readers into his world of Exandria.
Critical Role has more than 50 million views since its launch in March. Its cast includes Mercer, Travis Willingham, Marisha Ray, Taliesin Jaffe, Ashley Johnson (Blindspot), Sam Riegel, Liam O’Brien, and Laura Bailey.
The series has also attracted celebrities who have joined the cast as special guests, including Chris Hardwick, Felicia Day, Wil Wheaton, and Phil Lamarr. Work is underway on the first book, Critical Role: Tal’Dorei Campaign Setting, scheduled for release next spring. All books in the series will use the Fifth Edition rules.

HTI Signs with MGA for Num Noms

HTI has signed a license deal with MGA Entertainment for Num Noms wheeled toys. From the novelty scented collectibles range that is taking the collectibles market by storm, MGA Entertainment is now extending the reach of this incredibly popular license brand into other product categories. HTI has snapped up the opportunity to manufacture and distribute Num Noms wheeled toys in UK and Eire.
HTI’s Num Noms wheeled range will comprise a Skateboard, a selection of Scooters, Helmet and Protection Gear which is in development for launch Spring Summer 2017.

Vosene Kids Collaborates with DreamWorks Animation For Trolls

Vosene Kids entered a promotional partnership with DreamWorks Animation for its latest film, Trolls.
Featuring Trolls characters, the limited-edition packs will roll out across retailers from August. In addition to creating strong stand out on shelf, the on-pack promotion to give away 40,000 mini Trolls dolls is designed to drive shopper and consumer engagement, as well as retailer sales. Each limited-edition product across the brand’s Squeaky Clean and Fruity Goodness ranges will contain a scratch mechanism on the back of the product to win prizes.
Vosene Kids will also launch an interactive game that will help kids learn how easy washing their hair can be through a shampoo challenge with the Trolls characters.
The partnership will run through February, driving consumers in store and online.

CPLG Restructures for Growth

CPLG has announced a restructure to reflect the increasing importance of multi-territory partners and synergies across retail, licensing, and operations, especially in Europe and the U.S.

Maarten Weck, currently the managing director of CPLG Northern Europe, will also head CPLG UK. John Taylor has been promoted to commercial director, CPLG UK, and Gemma Witts has been promoted to retail and marketing director, CPLG UK. 

Maria Gurrieri, currently the managing director, CPLG Italy, will now add Turkey and Greece to her overall remit, to become managing director, CPLG Southern Europe. Anthe Louizos, managing director, CPLG Turkey and Greece, will report to Gurrieri. Pau Pascual, who currently manages CPLG Iberia, will also take on oversight of Middle East, to support the expansion plans of CPLG MENA.

Having licensed book content to a wide variety of customers from national Newspapers to international Publishers I would relish the experience to work in a new industry, licensing new content to new clients.
