Marvel Launches Assortment of Products Inspired by Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy

Guardians of the GalaxyMarvel Entertainment and Disney Consumer Products unveiled an action-packed product collection to celebrate Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Hasbro, Lego, Disguise, Her Universe, Café Press, Mad Engine, Just Play, KidDesigns, Hot Wheels, Rubie’s, C-Life, Jay Franco, and The Disney Store have teamed up for an assortment of action figures, plush, play sets, role-play, costumes, and ’80s nostalgia lifestyle products that are available now at national retailers, specialty stores,, and The Disney Store. 

Jada Toys Secures Vehicles License for Jurassic World, Fast & Furious 7

Jada Toys has been granted the vehicle rights for Jurassic World and Fast & Furious 7 through a licensing agreement with Universal Partnerships & Licensing. Both films are slated for release worldwide next year. 

OYO to Produce Major League Baseball Player Minifigures as Little Leaguers 

Major League baseball players and Little League Baseball and Softball have licensed OYO Sports to produce collectible minifigures of current and former Major Leaguers featured in their Little League All-Star uniforms. The product line is comprised of building-block style minifigures compatible with other building-block toy lines.
The initial product line includes Little League versions of Adrian Gonzalez, Derek Jeter, Ian Kinsler, Dustin Pedroia, Troy Tulowitzki, David Wright, and Hall of Famer Nolan Ryan. They will be available at select toy stores, collector stores, and fan shops.

Sesame Street Celebrates 45th Anniversary

Sesame StreetSesame Workshop launches Sesame Street’s 45th season on PBS KIDS September 15. A bonus half-hour program that will air on weekday afternoons and weekend mornings, complementing the regular weekday one-hour series, also debuts in September.
Sesame Street’s new afternoon and weekend program on PBS KIDS will offer families more access to the series. Each half-hour episode is a shortened version of each one-hour program and will include a “Street Story,” a “Word on the Street” segment, a celebrity vocabulary segment, songs, spoofs, letter/number dance breaks, and popular segments such as “Cookie’s Crumby Pictures” or “Super Grover 2.0.” In addition to airing on PBS stations, selected episodes of the 30-minute show will also be available for free online at, on the PBS KIDS Video App, on Apple TV, and on the PBS KIDS Roku channel.
Celebrities and headline makers are featured in the new season, including First Lady Michelle Obama, Academy Award-winning and nominated actors Viola Davis, Jonah Hill, Sir Ian McKellen, and Lupita Nyong’O; Golden Globe-winning and nominated actors Emily Blunt, Zach Braff, Claire Danes, Tina Fey, Jane Krakowski, and Emmy Rossum; as well as many more.

USA Basketball Enters New Marketing Partnerships

USA Basketball has signed deals to enter new marketing partnerships with Samsung, Hospital for Special Surgery, and Diageo. Each will promote its brand and products throughout the USA Basketball Men’s and Women’s National Team training camp, exhibition games, media, and during several special events taking place this summer in Las Vegas, Chicago, and New York.
Several additional partners, including the Jeep brand, Nike, Las Vegas, Wynn Las Vegas, and BBVA, will host activities throughout the summer with USA Basketball as the Men’s National Tram prepares for the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup in Spain from August 30 to September 14. 

Lego Friends App Launches

Lego FriendsWarner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, TT Games, and The Lego Group have launched a Lego Friends app available for download on the App Store for iPhone, iPad, and iPod. The app is based on the Lego Friends collection of building sets and players can create their own summer adventure in Heartlake City with characters Olivia, Mia, Stephanie, Emma, and Andrea.
Players can expand their adventures by unlocking new levels of friendship in fully narrated interactive stories, with themes based on each character. The game features a smartphone-inspired interface including text messages from friends, photo collections, and an interactive map that allows players to explore locations throughout Heartlake City. 

Disguise Expands Licensing Agreements for Fall

DisguiseDisguise has renewed and expanded agreements to produce Halloween costumes for this fall. The agreement spans multiple companies, including American Greeting Properties (Care Bears and Strawberry Shortcake), Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products (The Simpsons and Family Guy), and Warner Bros. Consumer Products (Austin Powers).
All costumes will be available for Halloween, with the exception of Strawberry Shortcake, which will hit stores for next year. 

Jell-O Kicks Off College Football Season with New University Mold Kits

Jell-OAhead of football season, Jell-O will launch 16 new Jell-O University Mold Kits. Available this month, each kit will contain two trays of school logo or mascot molds, along with boxes of Jell-O gelatin in team colors. This year’s launch will include 16 schools.
Jell-O University Mold Kits will be available at grocery stores, mass merchandisers, and To integrate marketing and licensing assets at the participating schools, Jell-O has connected with IMG College, Learfield Sports, Michigan State Athletics, USC Sports Properties, and LSU Sports Properties. As part of the program, fans at each school will have an opportunity to take home a mold kit on game day.

IMG Renews Licensing Agreements with Sugar Bowl, Tournament of Roses, and Heisman Trophy Trust

IMG has extended current partnerships with the Sugar Bowl Committee, the Tournament of Roses, and the Heisman Trophy Trust to manage their respective trademark licensing programs.

Blue Orange Games Introduces Nine New Disney Licensed Games

Blue Orange Games will introduce nine new Disney licensed games for release this fall. The company will adapt its existing titles to feature Disney properties, including Disney Frozen, Disney Planes, Sofia the First, Doc McStuffins, and Jake and the Neverland Pirates. The first year is focused on the launch of a series of educational games for kids ages 3 and up and will include best sellers Spot It! and Tell Tale. 

Rovi and TP Vision Enter Multi-Year Licensing Agreement

RoviRovi Corp. has announced that Rovi has entered into a multi-year patent license agreement with TP Vision. The licensing terms grant TP Vision use of Rovi's discovery patent portfolio for its Philips-branded TV models and related second-screen companion apps and services across multiple international regions.

WordGirl to Kick Off Season 7 

WordGirl will make its Season 7 debut on August 4 on PBS Kids. Each of the 13 new half-hour episodes of the animated TV series from Scholastic Media will feature two vocabulary-infused stories where WordGirl will combat against quirky villains and their poor grammar. 

Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood Season Two to Premiere on PBS Kids 

Daniel TigerSeason two of Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood from the Fred Rogers Co. will launch on August 18 on PBS Kids with a one-hour episode. A new character, Daniel Tiger’s little sister Margaret, will be introduced. The season begins with a week full of new episodes that follow issues young children face with a new sibling. Topics will include feeling left out, being a helper, dealing with the excitement, meeting the new baby, understanding that things may be different, and learning about sharing time and attention.


BCI Expands Apparel Deal with Monkey

Bulldog Licensing has brokered a deal for BCI to expand the apparel company’s line of Monkey clothing. BCI currently produces a Monkey t-shirt, nightwear, and underwear line. 

Candy Crush Saga-Inspired Candy Line Launches in the UK

Candy CrushKing Digital Entertainment has launched Candy Crush Saga’s first UK collection of candy in partnership with Spun Candy. The line is available exclusively at Selfridges stores nationwide and in Spun Candy’s store in Covent Garden.
Four different collections of handmade candy will be available at launch, inspired by episodes in the game, including the Lemonade Lake Collection, Sweet Surprise Collection, Candy Town Collection, and Lollipop Forest Collection. 

Entertainment One’s SO SO Happy Adds New Fashion Partners

SO SO HappyEntertainment One Licensing (eOne) continues to grow the US licensing programme of its teen/young adult lifestyle brand SO SO Happy by adding a new roster of category-leading apparel and accessory partners. This announcement follows close behind the recent signing of Kelly Teegarden Organics as the brand’s cosmetics partner.
The company has announced announce a new collaboration with alternative fashion company Iron Fist, known for their edgy. “We are thrilled to be working with the Iron Fist team,” says Cindy Bailey, President of eOne Licensing’s pop culture and lifestyle division.  “Their distinctive style and our shared creative vision for the brand will translate into amazing and unique offerings for SO SO Happy enthusiasts as well as devotees of the Iron Fist brand.” The licensed collection will include fashion tops and bottoms, blouses, sweaters and coats, dresses, jumpsuits, and footwear.  “We are thrilled to be working with Cindy and her team at eOne,” said Travis Anderson, CEO at Iron Fist. “We share the same creative vision and we love the brand so it just made sense to collaborate.”
Fashion companies Loungefly and Goodie Two Sleeves are also on board to produce a collection of SO SO Happy apparel and accessories for the U.S. market.  

Guinness World Records Celebrates 60th Anniversary

Guinness World Records will celebrate its 60th anniversary in September by releasing a new 2015 edition.

Marmite Partners with Pants on Fire for New Games

MarmiteIn a deal brokered by Hot Pickle, Marmite, the British brand from Unilever UK, has partnered with Pants on Fire Games to bring to market two brand new Marmite games.  
Using Marmite’s tone and building on the famous ‘love it hate it’ strapline, the games hit the shelves of Waterstones, WHSmith, HMV, Amazon and John Lewis (online) at the end of August.

Versace 19.69 Italia Appoints Those Licensing People

Versace 19.69 Abbigliamento Sportivo Srl is a Milanese company established by Alessandro Versace in 2001. Those Licensing People will introduce V 19.69 Italia into the UK as an aspirational brand keeping alive its heritage of tradition and elegance through the creation of a range of licensed products which will appeal to high-end retailers and fashion conscious consumers.
Those Licensing People will initially be looking to secure licensees and distribution across a select number of key categories including watches, sunglasses and handbags. The second phase of the brand’s rollout will target home wares and textiles.
The launch of Versace 19.69 Italia in the UK will be supported with an extensive marketing & PR programme which will establish the brand to media and consumers across print, digital and social networking platforms over the next six months.

Hungry GamesIn celebration of Beefeater's 40th year, appointed Boss of Beef Vernon Kay has launched the latest summer campaign from Beefeater –known as 'The Hungry Games'.
Participating in 'The Hunger Games' style shoot for the announcement, Boss of Beef Vernon Kay can be seen taking on Katniss Everdeen at her own 'games', trekking through the jungle with a bow and arrow and on the hunt for the perfect steak armed with the only tools needed - a knife and fork.
Launching in Beefeater restaurants this summer, 'The Hungry Games' is a quiz pack that will test the wits, brain and knowledge of the whole family. The top families from the first heat will then take part in a grand-final – a live game show hosted by Vernon Kay.
