Rovio Entertainment Ltd. Partners with DJ Darude To Soundtrack Angry Birds Update

Rovio Entertainment Ltd. partnered with Finnish DJ and producer Darude to soundtrack The Mighty League, an update to the original Angry Birds video game, marking the first major update after the game launched in 2009. The new “Mighty League Anthem” is a remixed version of Darude’s song “Sandstorm.”
Players can access The Mighty League directly from the main screen of their existing Angry Birds app and compete to beat other players. Three different levels are available for play each day, drawn from existing episodes. Players will work their way through six leagues to make it to the top tier, otherwise they will be relegated to lower leagues.

DHX and Amazon Prime Sign U.S. Exclusive for Looped

DHX Media has licensed season one of its new animated comedy series Looped, exclusively for Amazon Prime members in the U.S to stream or download via the Amazon Video app for TVs, connected devices including Fire TV, mobile devices and online at This original kids’ series debuted on Prime Video in the U.S. on July 25.
In addition, DHX Media will add five seasons of the classic children’s series The Busy World of Richard Scarry, the first season of the much-loved Madeline series, and the feature special Madeline Sing Along with her Friends, to the U.S. Prime Video catalogue, bringing more popular kids content to the catalogue for Prime members to enjoy.

Cartoon Network Enterprises Signs New Partners for Rick and Morty

Cartoon Network Enterprises (CNE) added five new partners for its animated series Rick and Morty. Funko, Cryptozoic Entertainment, USAopoly, PhatMojo, and Astro Gaming join existing toy partner J!nx to create toys, games, and more.
Adding to the comics and apparel collection already available, new Rick and Morty toys and games include POP! vinyl figures, stylized plush, and Mystery Mini collectibles from Funko; Mr. Meeseeks Box of Fun Dice and Dares game from Cryptozoic Entertainment, available on August 3; Rick and Morty games, puzzles, and cards from USAopoly; adult halloween costumes and accessories from PhatMojo; and Rick and Morty tags for wireless and wire gaming headphones, from Astro Gaming.
Rick and Morty follows a sociopathic genius scientist who drags his timid grandson on dangerous adventures across the universe.

St. Pancras International to Launch Licensing Program

St. Pancras International, one of the UK’s largest and busiest railway stations, will be celebrating its 150th anniversary in 2018 and manufacturers now have the chance to join what is set to be an iconic London licensing programme. The first licensed products will appear on the St. Pancras International on-line shop in A/W 2016 with an in station pop-up retail presence planned for A/W 2017.
Adam Bass, Director at Golden Goose, the company now exclusively appointed as St. Pancras International’s licensing agency said: “St. Pancras International welcomes 48 million visitors a year. Moreover, the average visitor spends 40 minutes in this iconic London destination.” He added, “we’re delighted to be developing licensed products and partnerships inspired by St. Pancras International. These products will represent the best of modern Britain and this iconic London landmark.”
With the restoration of St. Pancras International responsible for the regeneration of an area that is now home to Google’s European HQ and Central St. Martins, there is a massive affection and admiration for the award-winning station from visitors who clearly enjoy the station’s retail environment.
Wendy Spinks, the Commercial Director of HS1 Ltd, the company that owns and operates St Pancras International, said “40% of our visitors buy something from our retail partners.” She continued: “As the nation’s favourite railway station we know there is demand from our visitors for St. Pancras International products. Rubie’s Costume Co. Introduces New Ghostbusters Costume Collection

Rubie’s Costume Co., under license with Columbia Pictures, will launch a New Ghostbusters Costume collection, including costumes, T-shirts, wigs, accessories, and masks.
The line is available in child unisex sizes and adult standard, deluxe, and ultra-deluxe styles. Inspired by the film’s main characters—Abby, Erin, Jillian, Patty, and Kevin—the costumes are specially designed to reflect the one-piece jumpsuits featured in the film. The adult female costumes include four individual name tags. The collection also offers Rowen and Sparky costumes.
Ghostbusters released in theaters on July 15 and the Ghostbusters costume collection will be available this Halloween along with the classic Ghostbusters collection.

All American Licensing Launches Merchandise Program for Swiss Cookware Brand

All-American Licensing has announced the signing of Swiss Diamond, the non-stick cookware brand. The high-end brand was founded in 2001, and is currently distributed through the selective sales channels.
Swiss Diamond has positioned its brand to be appreciated by foodies, home chefs, and non-compromising clientele. Given the success of the past 15 years with independent gourmet stores, AAL will provide a strategic road map for Swiss Diamond to expand beyond cookware to provide consumers with products throughout the entire house.
All American Licensing will be looking to license products in key categories such as glassware, glass bake ware, kitchen gadgets, wine accessories, kitchen textile, small electronic appliances, dinnerware, silverware, home decorations, furniture and more.

GBI Expands Licensing and Retail Program for SpacePOP in North America This Fall

Genius Brands International (GBI) continues to expand its licensing, merchandising, and retail program for SpacePOP with a slate of new North American licensees. SpacePOP merchandise will begin rolling out at retail this fall in the U.S.
The Madame Alexander Doll Co. will create a line of fashion dolls and figures based on the brand’s main characters. Other new licensees include KIDdesigns for youth electronics, tech accessories, and electronic toys; Mad Dog Concepts for loungewear and sleepwear; Franco Manufacturing for bedding and bath textiles, accessories, and room décor; Berkshire Fashions for hosiery, head wear, and cold weather accessories; and FAB Starpoint for bags, backpacks, and accessories.

Character World Become ‘Bedi Mastersat Star Wars Celebration Europe

International textiles business, Character World exhibited at Star Wars Celebration Europe which took place in London this month. 
The three-day celebratory event held at the Excel London Exhibition Centre was filled with entertainment, celebrity appearances, shows as well as exclusive first looks and behind the scenes sneak peeks of future releases. Over 50,000 fans arrived in their droves dressed as Stormtroopers, Jedi, Sith and Wookies. 
Character World’s huge Star Wars product range proved to be a hit with fans, with some products selling out on the first day of the event. A Cuddle Robe inspired by the star of The Force Awakens, BB8, was popular with little Padawans as it sold out on day one. 
The licensing business made sure that its stand didn’t go unnoticed by encouraging fans to tweet selfies of themselves in the Character World BB8 Cuddle Robe to be in with a chance of winning a bundle of Star Wars themed goodies. A huge number of fans took to Twitter and Instagram to get involved using the hashtag, #BB8Selfie.
The full range that Character World showcased at the event included double and single duvets, cushions, towels and cuddle robes.

LIMA UK Names Rising Star Nominees

The International Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association (LIMA) announced the nominees for the 2016 UK Rising Stars Award. Now in its third year, the award is designed to recognize excellence among junior licensing industry professionals in the UK.  Nominees were named during the Young Professionals Network summer event, hosted by Cartoon Network Enterprises EMEA.
The 2016 finalists are Georgina Huckle, sales and marketing executive, Rainbow Productions; Eloise Jones, buyer – Girls Wear and Baby Wear, George @ ASDA; Julia O’Brien, licensing executive, Turner Broadcasting Systems; Sarah Patel, retail marketing executive, Nickelodeon; Sole Puerto, licensing manager, Bulldog Licensing; and Talia Tester, licensing manager, Carte Blanche Greetings.
The winner will be announced during the 2016 Licensing Awards, taking place in London on September 13.  All six nominees will receive a free ticket to the event.

Santoro Partners with Selfridges

Santoro will be opening its own pop-up shop in Selfridges’ London store this August.
The pop-up boutique will be found on the fourth floor within the toys and games department of Selfridges over the course of the summer holidays, with a focus on Santoro’s new Gorjuss back-to-school collection.

Marriott International Inc. Extends Partnership with the NBA

Marriott International Inc. and the National Basketball Association (NBA) extended their partnership, making Marriott a partner of league events, including NBA House Rio, NBA All-Star, and select NBA Global Games. In addition, Marriott International will become an official partner of USA Basketball.

Disney Store Celebrates Finding Dory Release

To celebrate the release of the Disney•Pixar film Finding Dory, out in UK and Ireland cinemas on 29 July, Disney Store is hosting a series of exciting in store activities for kids and families.

Prime Entertainment Group Renews Deal with Universal for Pan African Territory

Prime Entertainment Group has announced the renewal of its leading series with Universal Networks in the Pan African territory.
The deal signed is for 52 episodes of Hollywood on Set (52x26).

C3 Licenses The Three Stoogesto Argentinian Clothier MAG

C3 Entertainment, Inc. has announced a license to MAG, for a line of Three Stooges (Los Tres Chiflados) themed t-shirts and boxer shorts. The products are expected to be available in the Argentinian market in the fall of 2016 and will be distributed by mass market retailers Walmart, Carrefour, and La Anonima.

“The Three Stooges have a large and enthusiastic fanbase in South America,” said Ani Khachoian, Executive Vice President of Licensing, Merchandising and Distribution for C3. “We are thrilled that The Three Stooges boxers and t-shirts will be available in the Argentinian market.”

A spokesperson for MAG stated, ”We at MAG are always offering new and original concepts taking into account the constant challenges of the current markets. We believe the collection will have a good reception at retailers and consumers, especially by the Argentinian Three Stooges' fans.”

Buenos Aires-based International Merchandising Consultants (IMC), paired the deal with C3 and MAG.
