BBC Reveals Jodie Whittaker as the New Doctor Who

Following the Men’s Wimbledon Final over the weekend, BBC One revealed that Jodie Whittaker will be the star of the new Doctor Who. Whittaker will be the Thirteenth Time Lord and take over for Peter Capaldi, who leaves the global series this holiday season.

New head writer and executive producer Chris Chibnall—who will take over for Steven Moffat on the next series—made the decision to cast the first woman in the role.

“After months of lists, conversations, auditions, recalls, and a lot of secret-keeping, we’re excited to welcome Jodie Whittaker as the Thirteenth Doctor. I always knew I wanted the Thirteenth Doctor to be a woman and we're thrilled to have secured our No. 1 choice.”

Following the news that Jodie Whittaker will be the Thirteenth Doctor, BBC Worldwide has announced that Character Options have renewed their deal to be the UK Master Toy Licensee for Doctor Who.

Character Options has held the master toy license for Doctor Who since the show's 2005 re-launch. In the last 12 years the partnership has seen more than 10 million action figures and almost 5 million sonic screwdrivers sold. The deal will see a development of new products featuring the Twelfth Doctor, Peter Capaldi, and new items are expected to hit the shops later this year, with Thirteeth Doctor product becoming available next fall.

The Tetris Co., Bioworld Europe Partner for Apparel and Accessories Range

The Tetris Co. LLC appointed Bioworld Europe as its new apparel and accessory licensee for Europe and the Middle East. Bioworld Europe will create a line of Tetris-branded clothing and gear, including T-shirts, hoodies, leggings, sleepwear, headwear, bags, belts, and more. The new products are expected to launch later this year.

Executive Seeks New Challenges

I have 8 years experience of working for a large London Publishing house licensing book content to third parties. I am looking for a role which utilises my skills in negotiation and relationship building and can develop my experience within the licensing field. Having licensed book content to a wide variety of customers from national Newspapers to international Publishers I would relish the experience to work in a new industry, licensing new content to new clients.

I realise that a move across from traditional publishing may mean a step down from the managerial role I was in before. I'm enthusiastic to work in a new industry and feel my skills are easily transferable and am happy to look outside licensing roles also.
