Turner Asia Pacific in Significant Investment in POPS

Turner Asia Pacific has announced an investment in POPS Worldwide (POPS) which sees Turner take a significant minority stake in the leading Vietnamese digital media and creator network.
This investment represents an opportunity for Turner to participate in the rapid growth of one of Asia’s most successful digital entertainment companies, reaching new audiences and further extending its existing partnership with POPS. Turner’s Boomerang brand launched in Vietnam in April 2016 on POPS Kids non-linear platforms – offering kids some of the best-loved international animations dubbed in Vietnamese.
“With its unique proposition, POPS has shown to be very adept at attracting and engaging audiences with its local content and creator network, and this agreement allows Turner to venture into this growing side of the business,” commented Ricky Ow, President of Turner Asia Pacific.
He added: “Our investment is part of Turner’s desire to place fans and consumers at the very core – to reach and engage them with branded content and playlists – as well as target diverse demographics in new ways. With a surge of video-on-demand viewing in both Vietnam and Southeast Asia, these are exciting times for two companies that share a very similar culture of innovation.”

Master Toy Appointed for The World of Dinosaur Roar

Nurture Rights, owner of The World of Dinosaur Roar!, the new preschool property created by Peter Curtis and produced in association with the Natural History Museum in London, has announced the appointment of Golden Bear as Master Toy licensee for The World of Dinosaur Roar!, as well as Nurture’s classic Dinosaur Roar! property.
The initial launch will feature puzzles, card games and a range of soft toys featuring some of the stars of The World of Dinosaur Roar! The range will launch in spring/summer 2018 and be available at select retailers. Further wider rollouts are planned for late 2018 and early 2019 including a collectable dinosaur figurine range. The core market for the Golden Bear range will be children aged 2-5, as well as gift givers and dinosaur fans everywhere.
Inspired by the best-selling, classic picture book from the 1990s, Dinosaur Roar!, by Paul Stickland and Henrietta Stickland, The World of Dinosaur Roar! is a new concept that teaches pre-schoolers about dinosaurs. The series introduces readers to a different title character in each book and uses his or her personality to teach children about dinosaurs in an engaging and entertaining way. Every book in the series also includes simple dinosaur facts and a pronunciation guide.
The property has been produced in association with the Natural History Museum in London, and all dinosaurs in the series have been verified and approved by Dr Paul Barrett of the Museum’s Department of Earth Sciences. All books and licensed merchandise will carry the Natural History Museum logo. It is this seal of authenticity that sets The World of Dinosaur Roar! apart.
