Cartamundi Adapts Connect4 and Game of Life to Shuffle Range

Cartamundi, one of the world’s market leaders in playing cards and card games, has announced the imminent launch of two additions to its highly popular Shuffle range: Shuffle GAME OF LIFE and Shuffle CONNECT4.
Available in July 2016, they are brand-new versions of two classic Hasbro games in an easy-to-carry-and-play card format. They are also part of the groundbreaking Shuffle range - Cartamundi’s innovative product category that combines playing cards and digital technology for an enhanced way to play card games with support from tablets and smartphones.
As in the classic game, Shuffle CONNECT4 is about placing colours — but with cards rather than discs, making it easier to play in a variety of settings and situations. In this version you have to put four of the same colours in a line, square or L-shape. Your mission cards — instructions that only you can see — will tell you what you’re aiming for. Instead of sliding discs into place you draw and place tiles that give you a number of options. Achieve four missions and you win. But should you pursue your mission or block your opponent? Can they stop your mission? What are they planning? Shuffle CONNECT4 is exciting, tactical, quick and easy to play, and a lot of fun! And if you’re missing the clicks and clacks of the big version, just download the app to hear the real sounds of the Connect4 plastic grid and coins falling into it.

Smiley Headlines Glastonbury!

Smiley battled with mud and rain to kick off the Glastonbury Festival weekend at Castle Cary in the UK last week. Armed with flags, badges and stickers, the Smiley team helped keep the spirit alive as festival punters queued for hours in patient excitement to get on to the shuttle buses.

With headliners, Muse, Adele and Coldplay rocking the stage, the British summer weather didn't rain down on anyone’s parade, and Smiley ensured the energy was kept up with one of their iconic 15ft Smiley rainbow flags billowing in the wind, and keeping people smiling. Handing out badges, stickers and even free flags to a lucky few, the long queue was entertained as the steady stream of festival-goers were encouraged to keep smiling by Smiley with a sticker for every single person.

The station crew were quick to get involved, handing out stickers and chatting to the queue to make the time pass quicker. The train staff were thrilled with the energy the Smiley team brought, and gave a shout out on the tannoy thanking them for coming to the station to spread smiles. The festival atmosphere had well and truly been ignited as strangers chatted and made friends, helped each other, sang and danced to the live two-man guitar and double bass band, and shared in each other’s excitement.

Once inside the festival, bright yellow Smiley and rainbow Smiley flags waved in the wind across the crowds at the Pyramid stage, the Other stage, and also seen dotted around campsites. And as Glastonbury Festival woke up to the news of the EU Referendum results on Friday, the Smiley flag, transcending all languages and cultures with its simple and instantly-recognisable logo, served as a reminder to try and remain together, to smile and share happiness at one of the world’s most welcoming and non-judgemental festivals in the world.
