Domo Partners with Ghostbusters Franchise for New Consumer Products Line 
 

DomoDomo is crossing streams with Ghostbusters in a new consumer products line. This mash-up takes a fresh approach to the Ghostbusters franchise, blending both classic and new with cross-generational appeal by casting Domo in a line of collectibles and plush for a limited time only. The line, made possible through an agreement with Sony Pictures Consumer Products as brokered by Big Tent Entertainment, is slated to hit shelves this fall.

The line will concentrate on the eccentric characters from the franchise, namely Slimer and the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, best suited to stand alongside Domo, and will cast them in recognizable scenes from the film.
 

Perryscope, Epic Rights to Jointly Manage Global Licensing Program for Woodstock 

WoodstockPerryscope and Epic Rights have been named to jointly manage a global licensing program for Woodstock, which celebrates its 45th anniversary this August.  

Perryscope and Epic Rights will serve as global licensing agents overseeing a series of innovative initiatives that both honor and reflect the Woodstock legacy and lifestyle. As the pioneer of music festivals, Woodstock continues to be the genre’s ultimate standard as well as the catalyst for today’s explosion of festivals worldwide.

WBCP, Tonner Doll Partner to Reimagine the Leading Ladies of The Wizard Of Oz

Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP) and Tonner Doll Co. Inc. have announced a slate of high-end fashion and costume designers who have signed on to create one-of-a-kind looks, modeled on Tonner’s 22-inch dolls, for the leading ladies of The Wizard of Oz program. In conjunction with the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the classic film, designers including Marc Jacobs, Donna Karan Atelier, and Hervé Léger by Max Azria will design costumes inspired by Dorothy, Glinda the Good Witch, and the Wicked Witch of the West. The haute couture dolls will make their debut during New York Fashion Week at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) on September 4, at which time they will be available for bidding on eBay for a charity auction. All proceeds will contribute to the There’s No Place Like Home campaign, benefitting Habitat for Humanity.

Beginning September 4, the dolls will be on display to the public at FIT and available for bidding by fans on eBay Giving Works. The online charity auction, managed by Auction Cause, will continue until September 14, with gross proceeds supporting Habitat for Humanity’s work to create decent, safe, and affordable housing in partnership with low-income families. Teenage Mutant Ninja TurtlesC-Preme Ltd. and Nickelodeon have launched a new Raskullz accessories line featuring helmets, knee pads, and elbow pads with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles-inspired 3-D designs. Available in Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo styles, each helmet includes a molded 3-D mask with real knotted fabric sashes in each turtle’s respective colors: blue, red, purple, and orange. The shock-absorbing EPS helmets are equipped with aerodynamic vent holes for cooling and adjustable nylon straps for the perfect fit. For full body protection, the collection also includes knee and elbow pad sets made of 3-D molded plastic with adjustable straps.  

Surf Sharks Captures Ven Dynamics for Licensed School Supplies
 

Surf SharksSurf Sharks has secured VenDynamics for licensed school supplies, including educational collector cards and stickers that feature fun shark factoids.
 
Surf Sharks is a hardcover book series for kids ages 6 to 12 that follows the comedy adventures of a group of young surfers and sharks who forge a friendship and ride the waves together as they help each other solve daily challenges growing kids face. The first book in the series, Surf Sharks: The First Ride, is available in all major book stores and online for Amazon Kindle and iTunes/iBooks as an ebook. 
 
The Ven Dynamics licensed school supplies will be distributed in approximately 3,000 mass retail locations, including Wal-Mart, Kmart, and national and regional supermarket chains. The collectibles will also be available within school systems nationwide.

Titan Merchandise Expands Licensing with Captain Action Enterprises

Captain Action ActTitan Merchandise and Captain Action Enterprises have launched Captain Action Cat merchandise, including T-shirts, mugs, ID holders, and more. These products will be on sale internationally in the third quarter of this year.
 
Captain Action Cat—currently appearing in a comic series from Dynamite Entertainment by the team of Art Baltazar, Franco, and Chris (Zod) Smits—is an anthropomorphic spin-off of the classic Captain Action character.
 
This version of the recently revived hero is designed for kids of all ages. Entitled The Timestream Cat-astrophe, the series spans the modern age, the silver age, the golden age, and the “aw yeah!” age. The story features Lady Action; creator-owned characters; and Dark Horse heroes X, Ghost, Sky-Man, The Occultist, and Captain Midnight.
 
The Captain Action action figure was created in 1966 by Stan Weston for Ideal Toys and sold internationally. The line has experienced a resurgence, complete with new toys, merchandise, books, and a comic series. Current plans for the first wave will include a Captain Action Cat T-shirt, a coffee mug, and an ID holder.
 

Deer Little Forest Appoints North American Licensing Agent

Deer Little FlorestDeer Little Forest has appointed Think Tank Emporium as its licensing agent for the U.S. and Canada. Think Tank Emporium is an independent licensing agency founded and managed by Joan Packard Luks and David Wollos.
 
Think Tank will represent all licensing rights in the territory (excluding TV and publishing, which are managed by Koko Media). The brand will be presented to the U.S. and Canada for the first time at International Licensing Expo.
Deer Little Forest is an illustration-based brand featuring the enthusiastic Forest Flo and her band of friends who endeavor to save the forest one tune at a time.
 
The property has several international stationery deals, an apparel deal, and has launched 16 card designs across the UK at retailer Paperchase. Deer Little Forest is also being developed as a preschool picture book series, with the first book The Animal Moon Parade due out this summer, and five more in development. The stories’ themes range from the forest Ecosystem (Bee Happy!) to mayhem and magic on Halloween (Mischief Night!). A TV series is in development as well.
 
Worldwide rights excluding the U.S. and Canada are managed by Lisa Hryniewicz at Koko Media. 

Polaris, Alchemy3 Introduce Powersports-Themed Lottery Programs 

Alchemy3 and Polaris Industries Inc. have reached a multi-year agreement that allows Alchemy3 to provide lotteries with rights to run Polaris-themed lottery games offering a variety of vehicles, including ATVs, side-by-sides, and snowmobiles.
Polaris designs, engineers, manufactures, and markets high-quality off-road vehicles, including all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), side-by-side vehicles, snowmobiles, motorcycles, and on-road electric/hybrid powered vehicles.
 
Lotteries will be able to choose vehicle prizes that match with the players they are trying to reach. In addition, Polaris prizes are a more affordable option to other vehicle prizes, allowing lotteries to award more prizes than a traditional vehicle game. The first Polaris lottery games will launch this summer.

Infinity Licensing to Represent Happyworld 

HappyworldHeidi Kenney launches Happyworld by Heidi Kenney, a new home furnishings brand featuring smiling, anthropomorphized snacks, desserts, and household items.
 
Kenney previously designed exclusive lines for Urban Outfitters and Land of Nod, and plush pillows, key chains, and bath accessories have been featured at Barnes & Noble, specialty gift stores, and independent toy stores nationwide. 
 
Infinity will launch the Happyworld by Heidi Kenney brand in the home, kitchen, and bath areas. Infinity will announce the first licensed partners for the brand in the coming weeks.

eOne Opens Australia Office

eOneEntertainment One Licensing (eOne) is opening an office in Melbourne, Australia, to further the reach of the Peppa Pig brand in the country.
 
“The opening of an Australian office heralds an exciting time for the business,” commented Andrew Carley, Head of Global Licensing at eOne. “Given the incredible success that Peppa has achieved in Australia to date, it’s important that we have a dedicated team on the ground to manage the next stage of the licensing strategy and develop the other brands in our portfolio." 
 
New appointments, Con Goutzoulas and Trish Padoin, will helm the Australian operations and maximize the commercial potential of eOne’s preschool television properties Peppa Pig, which is a leading preschool brand in Australia, Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom and Humf in addition to its teen lifestyle brands SO SO Happy and Skelanimals. 

SpongeBob Fronts Nick’s Slime Cup

Slime CupNickelodeon has launched a new interactive brand campaign built around Nickelodeon stars entitled Nickelodeon Slime Cup. Fronted by Slime Cup Ambassador, SpongeBob SquarePants, four teams consisting of Nickelodeon’s’ most popular characters will be battling it out to take home the prize – the Nickelodeon Slime Cup trophy.  The 14-week multi-territory, multi-platform event will drive participation across both Nickelodeon channels and digital sites; additionally, the Slime Cup will be seen in select markets, through specially created retail, theme park and mall experiences and on-the-ground events.  
 
 “Slime Cup provides Nickelodeon’s audience with a brand new way to interact with the stars they love, while providing clients and partners with an exciting new brand initiative, to help them connect with their audiences,” said Mark Levine, Senior Vice President, Nickelodeon International Marketing & Communications.  “Our expertise, depth of great content, and beloved characters have enabled us to create a campaign that engages kids at every touch point, across every platform.”

Suzy’s Zoo Announces Deal with Zapexa

Suzy's ZooLawless Entertainment has announced that Metrostar Media, the UK agent for Suzy’s Zoo, has signed Zapexa as a licensee to further the reach of the brand throughout Europe.
Zapexa will utilize the Little Suzy’s Zoo character set for digital emoticons for mobile messaging networks worldwide, with the exception of Japan and Taiwan. Zapexa partners with rights holders to commercialize their brands on digital platforms.

m4e Announces 2013 Growth

m4e AG has published its 2013 annual report. Findings include turnover improving slightly, to €19.1 million, up from the previous year’s €19 million.
 
EBIT has risen to €1.2 million, again up from 2012. Mia and Me continues to see success, with the licensing program promising further growth. The series is broadcast in over 80 countries. Lucky Punch – a joint venture between the m4e AG and Gerhard Hahn – and Rainbow are working on a second season that is planned to be completed by end of 2014/beginning of 2015. Moreover, m4e AG and its co-production partners have agreed to get started with the development of a script for season three. 

New Tickety Toc App Released

Tickety TocCupcake Digital, Inc. and Zodiak Kids have announced the release of the new Tickety Toc: Card Maker Time! app, the second interactive app experience based on the preschool series Tickety Toc.
 
The app is available today on the App Store, Amazon Appstore for Android and for NOOK devices.
 
“Expanding on the success of last year’s Tickety Toc Bubble Time storybook app, we are very excited to offer kids a fun way to get more involved with the brand by actually creating on their own,” said Amory Millard, Cupcake Digital EVP of Brand & Business Development. 

PGS Signs Global LadyBug Deals

LadyBugPGS Entertainment has recently closed licensing deals for the LadyBug series on three continents.  LadyBug is a co-production from French animation companies Zagtoon and Method Animation with Japan’s Toei Animation. International partners on the series include SAMG Animation and SK Broadband in Korea, AB International as French co-producer and co-distributor, and its leading commissioner in France, TF1.
 
New distribution deals for LadyBug include Gloob, a Globosat’s channel in Brazil; Télé-Québec in Canada and ABC in Australia.  The series will be launched during the second quarter of 2015 and has now been sold in six continents.

Monty Bojangles Opens Store

Award winning confectioners, The Monty Bojangles Fine Confectioners of London, have recently opened the “Monty Bojangles Truffle Bar and Coffee Lounge” in the historic market town of Reigate, Surrey.
 
The truffles are made in Angers, France, based on a traditional recipe dating back to 1934.

Commenting on the opening, Andrew Newlands and Pamela Bateman, owners of Monty Bojangles, said: “We’re delighted with this new venture which will expand the availability of our French cocoa dusted truffles to a wider audience who can delight in a freshly made coffee while sampling the different flavours of truffles. New Winx Club Movie Set for Big Screen

Winx ClubRainbow has announced that the third Winx movie – The Mystery of the Abyss - will hit cinemas across the world from September.

This movie is being released as part of the celebrations to mark the tenth anniversary of the Winx Club brand.
 
The film will have its world premiere in Italy in September, before being released in Turkey and Russia in October. Territories across the world will follow throughout the rest of 2014.  

Withit Appoints miPR

Withit Licensing has announced the appointment of licensing and media PR specialists, miPR.
 
miPR will handle all trade PR pre, during and post the Licensing Expo in Vegas, the World Children Expo in India and London’s Brand Licensing Expo focusing on five core brands; Kitties in the Cities, Phizzogs, DoodleBoos, Joey and Joy, as well as the original Withit brand of characters. 
 
In addition to trade PR, miPR will take full control of the Withit Licensing brand social media pages.  With regular updates and quick responses to fans, the main objective is to raise brand awareness and build an engaging audience.   
Withit Licensing is also briefing miPR to handle the development of its costume character campaign which will see the creation of new characters and the execution of a new distribution programme. 

THE MIDDLE EAST

Kaynak Licensing Signs with Turkish Retailer

Kaynak Licensing has secured an agreement with the Turkish retailer LC Waikiki to create a product range based on cartoon character, Niloya.
 
The new range will provide a series of outfits for girls.
 
Hakan Tungac, managing director of Kaynak Licensing Company, said: “Kaynak Licensing holds the worldwide rights for Niloya and is honoured to partner with LC Waikiki, a leading Turkish retailer. We believe Niloya has found her natural partner.”
The Niloya clothing range will be available in LC Waikiki stores from June this year.

Garfield-Themed Book Range Coming from The Five Mile Press

A new themed Garfield book range, created by The Five Mile Press, will be available at key Australian and New Zealand retailers from Octover 2014.
 
The product range will feature classic Garfield material and will be targeting audiences who grew up with Garfield and will be looking to share their love with a new younger audience.
