Entertainment One (eOne) has appointed Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing master publishing partner for its animated preschool series PJ Masks in North America. The new PJ Masks titles arrive at retail beginning this fall.
 
The new PJ Masks books include a mix of story, novelty, and board books, as well as ready-to-reads. They join an introductory range of toys and playthings from master toy licensee Just Play, which begins rolling out at retail across North America this fall and then expands into international markets in 2017. In addition to the upcoming licensed products, a new PJ Masks website, a free app, and music videos are all set to launch this year.
 
PJ Masks airs daily on the Disney Junior Block and Disney Junior the Channel.
 

Ludorum Appoints Jazwares as Global Master Toy Partner for Chuggington Merchandise

Ludorum appointed Jazwares as its new global master toy partner for the preschool series Chuggington.

The Jazwares Chuggington range will include collectible characters, play sets, and toys. The line will move away from traditional track systems such as trains and focus on destinations depicted in the series.

The line will launch next spring with varying price points for broad retail distribution.

This Old House, a multi-platform home improvement brand has signed Brand Central LLC as its exclusive licensing agency to expand the brand into a full consumer products program at retail.
 
The This Old House brand was recently acquired by TZP Growth Partners, and plans to use this investment to grow and invigorate the brand. Brand Central is excited to capitalize on this new initiative to build a successful licensing program for the trusted franchise and its passionate fans.

Sesame Workshop Launches YouTube Kids Channel Sesame Studios

Sesame Workshop launched a new YouTube channel, Sesame Studios, showcasing new non-Muppet characters, short-form series, and original stories.

The channel will feature videos focusing on curricular areas such as literacy, health, and social-emotional development in engaging formats. It will build off the success of the Sesame Street YouTube channel, which has close to 2 million subscribers and nearly 3 billion views.
 
Singer, songwriter, actor, and YouTube star Todrick Hall wrote and produced the channel’s new theme song. Other videos include live-action nursery rhymes, animated milestone songs, animal films, and new digital native series, such as The Totems, Scribble Tales, and Words with Puffballs.
 
Marvie, a new digital puppet character, will host the channel, introduce new videos and playlists, and encourage kids to interact with content as they watch.

Families will be able to co-view Sesame Studios content on the main YouTube channel.

Televix Entertainment Named Licensing Agent for the New Beyblade Burst Series for Latin America

Sunrights, Inc. has appointed Televix Entertainment the licensing and TV agent for the new generation of Beyblade, known as Beyblade Burst, in Latin America. The distribution of broadcast, merchandising, and promotional rights for Beyblade Burst outside of Asia is managed by Sunrights, Inc., the western-based entertainment subsidiary of d-rights, Inc.  
 
Sunrights, Inc. is in active discussions with broadcast partners for the Beyblade Burst animated series slated to premiere in the U.S. and Canada later this year, followed by other territories in 2017. Hasbro is the master toy licensee for the Western markets and will launch a Beyblade Burst toy line later this year in North America followed by a broader launch in 2017 for international markets. The new toys feature a dynamic "burst" component, bringing more excitement to the successful battling play pattern.
 
The new Beyblade Burst animated series started airing in Japan last month. The series is completely reimagined by production company OLM, with all new characters, stories, and dramatic battles.
 
Televix will start marketing the series at the upcoming Los Angeles Screenings trade show taking place May 16 to 19 at Suite 634 of the Intercontinental Hotel.

History and Cosmic Con Announce Alien Con

Jumbo Games Launches New Finding Dory Range

Jumbo Games has announced the launch of its new licensed range of puzzles & games to tie in with the UK release of Disney/Pixar Finding Dory.
 
Available at the end of this month, the new range will include eight new puzzles & games. The range will include a variety of colourful and carefully chosen scenes across the most popular Jumbo formats such as the 4in1 Shaped Bath Puzzles and the Bath Memo Game – an ideal fit for the property. Genius Brands International (GBI) signed multiple licensing agreements for its animated series Warren Buffett’s Secret Millionaires Club, Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab, and its new music-based tween series SpacePOP.  
 
GBI has licensed short form content, including webisodes from Warren Buffett’s Secret Millionaires Club and music videos from SpacePOP and Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab to batteryPOP.
 
GBI also licensed SpacePOP to Toon Googles and licensed U.S. broadcast rights for Secret Millionaires Club and Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab to Starz and Qubo.

Dreamland Margate Appoints Brand & Deliver

Entertainment partnerships specialist Brand & Deliver has been appointed by Dreamland Margate to devise and manage a promotional campaign based on seasonable sponsorship and awareness-driving brand partnerships.
 
Dreamland Margate, which opened to the public in June 2015, is keen to drive nationwide brand awareness, engage customers and increase footfall.
 
Brand & Deliver will work with a small number of highly focused brand partners, offering Dreamland prize packages to support the summer holiday period. NBA, Mountain Dew Launch Dew NBA 3X

NBA and Mountain Dew launched Dew NBA 3X, the league’s first nationwide elite 3x3 basketball competition tour that will make stops in six NBA markets between May and October, with winning teams qualifying for the 2017 USA Basketball 3x3 Tournament.  
 
The invite-only competition will start on May 21 in Atlanta and culminate on October 23 in Los Angeles with the Dew NBA 3X National Finals. The program will also visit basketball fans in Miami, Dallas, Chicago, and Houston.
 
Dew NBA 3X Ambassador and Hall of Famer Gary Payton, along with local NBA players and legends, will interact with fans as they participate in skills contests and other fan-friendly entertainment that celebrates basketball culture. 
                     
At every Dew NBA 3X tour stop, Mountain Dew will create a pop-up gallery showcasing basketball and youth culture-themed artwork submitted by local artists and fans. Fans can submit their artwork to be featured using #CourtsideCollection on Instagram.

Lion Forge Comics to Develop a Film on Andre Roussimoff’s Life

Lion Forge Comics and producers Scott Steindorff and Dylan Russell partnered to develop a film on the life of Andre “the Giant” Roussimoff, based on the graphic novel biography, Andre the Giant: Closer to Heaven.
   
Steward and Lion Forge CCO Carl Reed will produce the film with Steindorff and Russell of Stone Village Productions. Joel Falderon will be the co-producer and Barry Alexander will be the associate producer.

National FFA Enters License Agreement with Club Red

Club Red Licensed Apparel has entered into a licensing agreement with the National FFA Organization. The relationship allows FFA-branded apparel specifically designed to connect with supporters of FFA. 
 
"The addition of FFA to our growing portfolio of licensors strengthens our lineup of brands that connect with American values,” said David Harkins, VP, Marketing for Club Red. “We’re excited about working with the organization to support agricultural education for America’s youth.”

Iconic Battlezone IP Returns with Two Video Games 

Atari’s iconic Battlezone arcade game was introduced in 1980. This IP went on to spawn a number of titles over two decades and is now set for a 2016 return with two games by UK game developers, Rebellion.

Battlezone 98 Redux is a re-master of the 1998 Battlezone game from Activision. Retaining the original game’s blend of first-person tank combat and real-time strategy, Battlezone 98 Redux released on PC in April. Battlezone is a virtual reality (VR) reboot of the original 1980 arcade game. Launching alongside PlayStation VR this October and Oculus Rift later in the year, Battlezone’s VR immersion places players in the cockpit of their own super tank as they blast waves of mechanized enemies across sci-fi landscapes.

These two launches set the stage for a merchandising program for gamers of all ages utilizing the heritage logos as well as modern game logos and graphics. Battlezone is available for licensing into apparel, toys, electronics, and trend merchandise.
