eOne, Round Room Presents Partner for PJ Masks Live Stage Show

Entertainment One (eOne) and Round Room Presents partnered to bring the first PJ Masks live stage show to the U.S. and Canada. Based on eOne’s animated series that airs daily on Disney Junior, Time to Be a Hero! features music, aerobatics, and more.

Beginning this fall, a range of consumer packaged goods and food product introductions will also arrive at retail in the U.S., including Choco-Treasure for chocolate surprise eggs; Frankford for chocolate and non-chocolate confections and seasonal gift sets; GBG Beauty for bath and personal care;  Primary Colors for cookies, candy, and packaged gummies; Pure Growth for organic breakfast bars and biscuits; and Tin Box for tin containers.
In addition, the brand debuted its first music release, Here We Come, which features 10 familiar songs, including the show’s theme song and other tracks from the brand’s official music videos. The mini-album is now available for iOS and Android platforms.

Transport for London Appoints TSBA to License Its Brand Globally

Transport for London (TfL) announced today its plans to expand the reach of its brand licensing program to the global market.
Following a competitive tendering process, TfL has signed a five-year deal with the TSBA Group, which will bring its internationally renowned symbols that embody the heritage and identity of London—such as the London Tube map and the roundel logo—to the global licensing market.
The appointment, structured on a commissioned-based framework, will generate funds for TfL to invest in delivering a modern and affordable transport network for the millions of people who rely on it every day. TfL and TSBA will develop a new brand licensing strategy to launch to the market this May. This will ensure the integrity of the TfL brand is maintained while inspiring new partnerships and products across the globe.

SYBO to Adapt Animated Series Based on Subway Surfers Mobile Game 

Sander Schwartz joined SYBO as head of animation and will adapt the Subway Surfers mobile game app into an animated TV series.

With this agreement, Schwartz will take Subway Surfers to TV and film, dividing his time between the creative team in Copenhagen and content. Brent Friedman (Star Wars Rebels and Star Wars: The Clone Wars) will script a series of shorts and long-form content.

The Subway Surfers characters and universe were created and developed by SYBO, and released as a mobile game together with Kiloo in 2012. The game is the most popular and played mobile app game to date.

Rubie’s Costume Co. to Launch Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Costume Collection

Rubie’s Costume Co. Inc. will launch a range of costumes, masks, accessories, and makeup inspired by the upcoming action-adventure film, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which premieres worldwide on Friday.

Available in toddler, children, and adult sizes, the licensed collection includes Star-Lord, Rocket Raccoon, Drax the Destroyer, Groot, Gamora, Yondu, and Nebula. Imagine—a division of Rubie’s—also offers dress-up costumes and accessories for kids in separates and boxed sets.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Costume Collection by Rubie’s will be available this Halloween season.

Uniqlo Unveils Grand Prize Winners of Nintendo T-Shirt Design Competition

Beginning May 29, Uniqlo will unveil 25 winning designs from this year's Nintendo-themed Uniqlo T-shirt Grand Prix competition. This year’s contest included 16,000 entries worldwide where participants created original T-shirt designs inspired by Nintendo's games and characters.

The first place winner was a design by Takashi Kawazoe (Japan), which features a Super Mario Bros. shirt. The second place T-shirt was designed by Shino Yamazaki (Japan) and features Splatoon graphics. The third place creation was designed by David Ricardo Flores Gomez (Mexico) and features a Legend of Zelda theme. 

The winning designs will be featured in Uniqlo stores worldwide and at, and the grand prize winners also received $10,000, an invitation to attend the awards ceremony in Japan, and a Nintendo Switch system signed by Shigeru Miyamoto, the creator of Super Mario Bros. and other hit games.

Tinderbox to Represent Licensing Programs for Call Of Duty in Europe

Tinderbox, the digital division of leading global brand extension agency Beanstalk, was appointed by Activision to represent licensing opportunities for Call of Duty in Europe.
Tinderbox will support the video game franchise and expand the European consumer products footprint. Tinderbox pursues opportunities in the lifestyle sector including apparel, fashion accessories, gift and novelty, consumer electronics, and home décor.
Call of Duty was the No. 1 top-selling console video game franchise worldwide last year for the eighth year in a row.

Brandberry to Represent Speed Stacks for Mass Retail Relaunch

Brandberry entered into a representation agreement with Speed Stacks to bring Speed Stacks back to mass retail for the first time in 10 years. Brandberry seeks a licensee for marketing and distribution opportunities.

Speed Stacks originally launched in 2006 with Play Along Toys, which is now a division of Jakks Pacific. The brand is the exclusive equipment provider to the World Sport Stacking Association and sponsors tournaments worldwide.

Netflix Original Series Beat Bugs Honored at the Annual Daytime Emmy Awards

The Netflix Original Series Beat Bugs was awarded gold for Outstanding Writing in a Preschool Animated Series at the 44th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards on Friday at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium celebration.

The preschool series revolves around the lives and adventures of five charming and funny child-like bugs who live in an overgrown backyard. The series is inspired by the music of The Beatles, and re-recorded by today’s contemporary artists including P!nk, Eddie Vedder, Rod Stewart, Tori Kelly, and more.

LIMA Canada to Host Focus Canada Event with Keynote Speaker from Walmart Canada

The International Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association (LIMA) will host an evening of education and networking at Focus Canada on May 2 at Corus Entertainment in Toronto. Organized by LIMA Canada, the event will be centered on Canadian shopping habits, licensed merchandise, and the future of retail.  Sam Wankowski, senior vice president of operations, Western Canada, Walmart Canada will give the keynote address, “The Evolving Relationship Between Retail and Licensing in Canada.”

Additional speakers for the evening include Myles Robinson, president of Centura Brands, speaking on “Licensing in a Changing Retail Environment: A Licensee’s Viewpoint;” Marianne Lattanzi, director retail development Canada, Universal Studios speaking on “Brand Ownership and the Retailing of Licensed Merchandise: A Licensor’s Viewpoint;” and Michelle Liem, director client development, The NPD Group speaking on “Current Trends and Outlook for Licensed Merchandise at Retail in Canada.”

Super 4, Foster’s Hollywood Restaurants Partner for Children’s Menu Toys

Restaurant chain Foster's Hollywood launched a food promotion that incorporates the Playmobil-inspired animated TV series Super 4 into its children’s menus in Spain.

With the purchase of a children’s menu item, kids will receive a personalized cup with the series characters and the choice of one of four Super 4 products including a stationery set, a giant pencil, a diary, or a pencil case. This promotion will be in more than 180 of the restaurant chains across Spain.

Super 4 is an animated TV series inspired by Playmobil and tells the adventures of four Playmobil heroes: Alex, Gene, Twinkle, and Ruby. In Spain, the series originally premiered on Disney Channel and is also broadcasted on Canal Panda and TV3.

The agreement was signed by Nottingham Forest, the licensing agent of Super 4 in Iberia, and Servicola.

Job Description: Creative Artworker/Designer

Bright is a leading illustration agency, providing creative content for clients across Licensing and Publishing. In this role it is important to understand the needs of each agent and their creative division, supporting the London & New York offices and working with the part time US designer to coordinate design consistency and efficiency. GENERAL SUMMARY: Creates strategic direction for active licensee base and negotiates new partnerships within assigned categories to achieve growth objectives.   Directs tactical execution of licensed product lines from concept/line plan through commercialization.  


  • Manage existing licensees in assigned categories: 
    • Evaluate licensee’s quarterly marketing, retail and financial forecasts to ensure licensees on are track to meet established contractual obligations, royalty payments and forecast goals.
    • Organize and run licensee orientations, business reviews, semiannual/quarterly line reviews, and brain storm sessions.
    • Address specific licensee performance issues
    • Negotiate renewals on a timely basis

  • Ensure licensees develop seasonal lines in time for internal seasonal review and develop documents and presentations to communicate licensee’s initiatives to internal Crayola departments

    • Work with creative and product development on design and creative direction for licensed product and packaging
    • Responsible for managing licensee press releases, cross marketing and promotions

  • Negotiate new licensed strategic partnerships for assigned segments in conjunction with established category strategies
    • Research, secure and develop new licensees building upon the success of existing segments in order to achieve predictable, profitable and sustainable growth
    • Negotiate deal terms including: grant of rights, royalty rates, guarantees, projections and business plans
  • 7 years’ experience in licensing or consumer marketing work for a CPG company.

I have 8 years experience of working for a large London Publishing house licensing book content to third parties. I am looking for a role which utilises my skills in negotiation and relationship building and can develop my experience within the licensing field. Having licensed book content to a wide variety of customers from national Newspapers to international Publishers I would relish the experience to work in a new industry, licensing new content to new clients.
I realise that a move across from traditional publishing may mean a step down from the managerial role I was in before. I'm enthusiastic to work in a new industry and feel my skills are easily transferable and am happy to look outside licensing roles also.
