  Hasbro Studios Signs Home Entertainment Deal with Clear Vision

Hasbro Studios has signed an extensive multi-territory deal with independent home entertainment label Clear Vision. The UK-based company has acquired home video distribution rights to the first and second seasons of the series My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic in the U.K., France, Spain, Italy, the Nordic countries, and the Middle East.

Produced and distributed globally by Hasbro Studios, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic follows a core cast of six pony friends through humorous, offbeat experiences, lessons in friendship, and enchanted adventures.

  Nickelodeon, Zodiak Sign for Second Season of Tickety Toc

Zodiak Kids has signed an acquisition deal with Nickelodeon for a second season of the CGI-animated preschool TV series Tickety Toc. The series will broadcast on Nickelodeon channels around the world including Nick Jr. in the U.S. and the UK. Nickelodeon has picked up 26 x 11-minute episodes of Tickety Toc, bringing the total number of episodes available to 78 x 11 minutes. In addition, Nickelodeon has ordered 3 x 30-minute specials as part of the agreement.

Additionally, Zodiak Kids has appointed Scholastic as the North American master publishing partner for Tickety Toc. The range of publishing will include storybooks, board books, story-based sticker books, novelty, and e-books. Product will be available in the U.S. and Canada across all channels of distribution next spring.

The deal was brokered by U.S. licensing agent Established Brands and Canadian licensing agent Studio Licensing on behalf of Zodiak Rights. Consumer products for the brand will launch in North America in the fall led by master toy partner Just Play and Home Entertainment partner Anchor Bay Entertainment.

  NBA Partners with Zara for Global Collection of Boys T-Shirts

The National Basketball Association (NBA) has partnered with Zara, which will create a collection of NBA boys T-shirts across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. This marks the first time the retailer is partnering with a North American sports league.

The T-shirt collection, for boys ages 3 to 12, will include designs for the Boston Celtics, Brooklyn Nets, Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers, and Miami Heat. The line is available at Zara stores and also at

NBA products are manufactured, sold, and marketed in more than 125,000 retail locations in 100 countries on six continents.

  Ian Hyder Raises Thousands Running London Marathon

Ian Hyder, Joint MD of Max Publishing and The Licensing Awards, ran the London Marathon during the weekend, and has raised £7,500 for The Light Fund and The Children's Trust Hospital.

"It was without a doubt the most physically and emotionally demanding stupid thing I have ever done and yet the most incredible," Hyder says. "I ran the 26.2 miles to raise money for The Light Fund and The Children's Trust Hospital. I am one of the founders of The Light Fund, sparked by an idea back in 2004 to create an industry-wide charity body that would raise monies to fund worthwhile charity projects to help children, woman and men. Together with a group of like-minded people from the UK licensing Industry, The Light Fund committee was formed and has since raised over £500,000."

  Disney and Glidden Partner for Paints, Specialty Finishes

Disney Consumer Products and Glidden have partnered for a new line of paints and specialty finishes available exclusively at select Walmart stores across the U.S. The line has been in the works for two years. The colors in the collection coordinate with Disney bedding products.

There are three collections in the Disney Paint line. Colors to Begin With are soft, subtle, soothing shades, including colors from Winnie the Pooh and other classic Disney stories, such as Eeyore's Rain Cloud and Blushing Piglet, which coordinate with Winnie the Pooh infant bedding. Colors with Character includes six colorful palettes inspired by Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Disney Princess characters, Disney Fairies, Disney Pixar's Cars, and Monsters University. Each palette has 10 colors pulled from the character's unique world, such as Cinderella's Ball Gown and Sulley's Fur, which are designed to complement Disney bedding and room accessories available at Walmart stores or online. Colors with Kick are bold, vibrant colors, such as Under the Hood and Glam Cam, designed for tweens and teens looking to create an imaginative, personalized space.

The collection of five specialty finishes includes All That Glitters, Great Slate, Speck-Tacular, Ready, Set, Glow!, and Magnificent Metallic.

  Second Season of Annoying Orange to Debut in May

Annoying Orange is returning to Cartoon Network for a second season. Kicking-off in May, the second season follows high ratings for the first, with premiere episodes averaging 2 million viewers.

Celebrities who will be lending their voices to the series include Dave Grohl, Rainn Wilson, Al Yankovic, Kellan Lutz, Olivia Munn, Gilbert Gottfried, David Cross, Jack McBrayer, Carl Edwards, Maria Menounos, and Kendall Jenner.

  Portico to distribute My Cat Pip Cards in the UK

JELC, the global licensing agent for the My Cat Pip design brand, and Over the Moon, creator of the brand, have appointed Portico Designs Ltd. to publish and distribute My Cat Pip greeting cards in the UK.

Founded in 1988, Portico Designs Ltd. produces greeting cards, gift wrap, stationery, and calendars. Portico will build on My Cat Pip's success in the greeting cards market in the UK. The brand will continue to be available on the web at

  Thom Chapman Appointed Territory Manager for DHX Media

DHX Media has appointed Thom Chapman as its new territory manager. Reporting to Josh Scherba, DHX Media's senior vice president of distribution, Chapman will be responsible for sales to English-speaking Canada and the Asia Pacific territories. Joining the sales team already in place at DHX Media, Chapman will focus on the expansion of DHX Media's properties across all platforms in these key territories.

Prior to joining DHX Media, Chapman was vice president of business development and sales at ToonBox Entertainment where he oversaw financing, public relations, sales, deliveries, and advertising for the company's animated projects.

  G by Guess Creates Fast & Furious 6 Capsule Collection

G by Guess has partnered with Universal Partnerships and Licensing for a limited-edition capsule collection inspired by Universal Pictures’ Fast & Furious 6, the sixth film in the global franchise, opening in theaters nationwide on May 24. The collection for men and women will begin to hit G by Guess stores on May 14.

The 15-piece collection consists of jackets, graphic print T-shirts, and tanks for men, as well as printed tank tops, a studded motorcycle jacket, and a tank dress for women. Accessories such as modern aviator sunglasses, a men's watch, and a signature embellished cap are also available. In addition, retail events will rev up the fashion at more than 30 G by Guess store locations on May 18, giving fans the chance to unlock shopping sprees and other prizes. Select stores will also distribute tickets to screenings of the upcoming film. Fans and customers alike can enter a 10-day long sweepstakes on and through Facebook, which will award a different prize each day, leading up to a grand prize of the entire capsule collection and a $1,000 G by Guess gift card.

  Atlantyca, RSI Sign for Second Season of Dive Olly Dive!

Atlantyca Entertainment has secured a deal with Italy's RSI for season two of Moonscoop's Dive Olly Dive!. The series is a 3-D, HD, CGI-animated series for preschoolers that follows the underwater adventures of young research submarine-in-training Olly, and his best friend and fellow sub-in-training.

Dive Olly Dive! is an international co-production between Moonscoop and Atlantyca Entertainment in Italy (season 2), Flying Bark Productions of Australia, KI.KA, ARD of Germany, Telegael Teo of Ireland, and GDC Assets Management in China. The first season of Dive Olly Dive! received funding from the European Community—Media Plus Programme.

  Care Bears to Feature in Burger King Kids Meal Promotion

AG Properties (AGP), the intellectual property and outbound licensing division of American Greetings Corp., has announced a worldwide Care Bears QSR promotion with Burger King restaurants. The promotion will run in participating restaurants in the U.S. and Canada and in select countries in Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe, and the Middle East.

The promotion, which kicks off this spring with varying start dates for each country, is tied to the Care Bears: Welcome to Care-a-Lot TV series, which airs in the U.S. on The Hub. Customers will receive one of four Care Bears premiums with the purchase of a BK Kids Meal, while supplies last.

  Hoho Announces DVD Deals for Abadas

Hoho Rights has announced two DVD deals for Dinamo Productions' preschool property Abadas, which will see the mixed-media animation series launch on DVD in the UK and Australia.

The deals have been signed with children's DVD, DTO, and DTR specialists Abbey Home Media in the UK and Roadshow Entertainment for Australia and New Zealand following the show's broadcast on CBeebies, S4C Wales, RTE Ireland, and down under on the Disney Channel.

Further international broadcast pick-ups include Al Jazeera Middle East, Hop! Israel, and EBS Korea. Hoho Rights has also confirmed another new TV acquisition by Truvision in Thailand.

  Big John Expands Reach with Beanstalk

Big John will work with global brand licensing agency Beanstalk to extend the brand in Asia. Established in Japan in 1940, Big John launched the first genuine Japanese denim fabric and fashion jeans developed after the founder, Koptaro Ozaki, visited the U.S. and saw the huge potential for denim in the Japanese market. The brand produced the first commercially washed denim jean in the market, and is a denim lifestyle brand in Japan, worn by style leaders who value the brand's heritage and contemporary styling.

Grace Mind—a brand management, distribution, and licensing company in Asia—is Big John's master licensee. Beanstalk plans to extend the brand across Northern Asia, with an initial emphasis on China, Hong Kong, and South Korea. Brand extension will focus on the core denim collection and complementary accessories, which will leverage the authentic, premium lifestyle image of the Big John brand.

  K'nex to Open London Office

K'nex Brands will open a new London subsidiary next January. Tomy UK, the current distributor of K'nex in the UK, will continue to offer service through the end of this year.

"Over the past several years K'nex has grown by leaps and bounds in the U.S.,” said Michael Araten, president and CEO of K'nex Brands. "In addition to popular core product, we have introduced many successful licenses that are popular worldwide.   Trump, Infiniss Partner to Expand Reach of Trump Brand

The Trump Organization has appointed Infiniss as the exclusive licensing agent who will spearhead the expansion of the Donald J. Trump Signature Collection into South Korea. Infiniss is tasked specifically with the implementation and launch of men's activewear, sportswear, and accessories bearing Donald Trump's namesake brand.

The Trump Organization is led by Donald Trump, who has more than 40 years of experience in the business of developing and designing real estate properties around the world. The collection is comprised of men's apparel and accessories inspired by the attention to detail and success of Donald Trump.

  Lisans Medya Appointed for Angel Cat Sugar

Tact Communications has appointed Lisans Medya Yincilik Reklam as its licensing agent for Angel Cat Sugar in Turkey. Angel Cat Sugar celebrated its 10th anniversary last year.

With the addition of this new territory, Angel Cat Sugar is now represented by 16 agencies worldwide, overseeing 80 licensees, which market products in more than 40 countries. The Angel Cat Sugar licensing program generates annual global retail sales of approximately $30 million.

  The Hundreds Partners with Grateful Dead Productions

The Hundreds has released The Hundreds X Grateful Dead Collection, now available at The Hundreds' flagship locations, select authorized retailers, and on The Hundreds Online Shop.

The limited-edition collection comprises a full range of graphic T-shirts, tanks, specialty shirts (including raglans and button-ups), sweatshirts, jackets, hats (including snapbacks and beanies), sneakers (limited to 100 pairs), key chains, and sticker packs featuring original The Hundreds graphics and a recurring tie-dye motif.

  Hive Honey to Hit Shelves

Space Enterprises, licensing agent for preschool property The Hive, has signed a new agreement that will see a line of Hive-branded honey on retail shelves.

The Hive is produced by Monumental Productions, Lupus Films, and DQ Entertainment. It is broadcast in the UK on ITV, as well as in Australia. The Walt Disney Company EMEA has also picked up the show in more than 150 countries, while The Hive recently launched on Disney Jr. in the U.S.

  Over 500 Participants Confirmed for NEM in Croatia

The organizers of NEM (New Europe Market) have announced that nearly 500 participants are confirmed to take part in the event, which will be the largest gathering of television, production, IPTV, marketing, and media professionals in Central and Eastern Europe. NEM will be held for the first time in Dubrovnik, Croatia, from May 8 to 11.

Confirmed participants include AGB Nielsen, Al Jazeera Balkans, BBC, CISCO, Discovery, Endemol, Fox International Channels, FremantleMedia, Global Agency, Google/YouTube, HBO Europe, Japan International Broadcasting Inc., MTV, NBCUniversal, Playboy, RTL, Sky International Operations Ltd, Sony, Telemundo Internacional, The Walt Disney Company, Turner Broadcasting, Viacom, WWE International, World Wide Entertainment, and ZenithOptimedia.
