Televisa Relaunches the Telerin Family

Anima Kitchent and Televisa have closed a co-production agreement to relaunch one of the most internationally recognized spanish children's brands: the Telerín Family.

Created by Jose Luis Moro Escalona, and produced by the Estudios Moro, it was an undisputed television icon in the late 60s and 70s, achieving the most important awards at festivals such as Cannes and Venice over seven consecutive years. Two generations of children in countries including Mexico, Argentina, Chile and Colombia grew up with the Telerín Family, which was on the air for twelve years. In Spain it remains one of the most memorable images of public television.

The agreement signed between Anima Kitchent and Televisa, includes the production of 52 episodes each comprising seven minutes each. Last April Televisa Consumer Products Division was appointed the licensing agent for the Telerín Family Mexico. The famous show song Time for Bed (Vamos a la cama) has been broadcast since September 2015 on Televisa Channel 2, and soon will be supported by a mobile application, Acostador, that will help parents in the task of putting their children to bed.

For Anima Kitchent the Mexican program has become a benchmark for future implementation in new territories. Last Christmas saw products featuring the Telerín Family in Mexican stores and Televisa are working to increase the number of licensees in 2016. To date, agreements have been signed in Mexico with consumer brands such as Lala Milk, Atlas Mattresses and the toy factory Fotorama which launched a Caritierna Telerín Cleo doll.

Maca Rotter, Director General of Televisa Consumer Products, commented, “It’s great for generations who grew up with the Telerin Family, to see it now crystallized into new content for the international market, with the universal values that characterize the series and the same endearing characters. The  new content will be designed to work in other territories and languages. It is exciting to bring back to life a brand that has more than 50 years of history.”
