eOne Prepares for Peppa Pig Retail Launch in India 

Entertainment One (eOne) shares plans for the retail launch of Peppa Pig in India. The TV series made its broadcast debut in the country last summer on VOOT Kids, the video on demand (VoD) destination by Viacom18 for kids’ content in India. Peppa Pig also made its debut on Nickelodeon preschool channel Nick Jr. India this month.
eOne signed Viacom18 Consumer Products, the merchandising and licensing division of Viacom18, to represent licensing rights for the brand across India and the Indian subcontinent. The first line of Peppa Pig merchandise recently rolled out to the Indian market, and includes plush toys, activity sets, and more. The products are now available at retailers across India, including Amazon online and more than 20 Hamleys toy stores. Hamleys will also support the launch with a retail marketing campaign.

Discovery Consumer Products, Macy’s Partner for Say Yes to the Prom Fashion Line

Discovery Consumer Products partnered with Macy’s for the Say Yes to the Prom dress and jewelry line. Featured as a shop in the juniors department, the Say Yes to the Prom collection will consist of gowns and a full line of jewelry available exclusively in 200 Macy’s department stores nationwide beginning next month. 
The line will be available at select Macy’s beginning Jan. 30, in time for TLC’s sixth annual Say Yes to the Prom initiative, which offers U.S. high school students across the country the opportunity to have the prom of their dreams with educational extensions that prepare them for college and careers. Say Yes to the Prom features a day of mentorship, prom dress shopping or tuxedo rental fittings, makeovers from Say Yes to the Dress’ Monte Durham, as well as scholarship and internship opportunities.

2017 LIMA Awards Entry Submissions Open Until February 1

The annual LIMA Awards recognize the industry’s highest level of achievement. To be considered for various categories, participants may use the LIMA Online Entry Form. All entries must be submitted by Feb. 1.
Licensed program categories include: Art/Design, Celebrity/Fashion, Character/Toy Brand, Corporate Brand, Digital, Film/Television/Entertainment—Animated, Film/Television/Entertainment—Live Action, Food and Beverage/Restaurant, Sports, Licensed Promotion (limited to one submission per property), Location-Based or Experiential Initiative, and Retailer.
Licensed Product categories include: Apparel/Footwear/Accessories, Appliances/Automotive/Electronics/Hardware/Housewares/Paint, Digital—apps, software, video, Food/Beverage, Health & Beauty Aids, Home Décor—domestic, furniture, giftware, textiles, Publishing/Social Expression/Back-to-School, and Toys/Games/Novelties/Role-Play. 
A separate online entry must be submitted for each category entered. The panel of licensing experts will review and score each entry and up to six entrants per category will be placed on the ballot. Winners will be announced at the LIMA Awards Ceremony held during the Licensing Expo in Las Vegas this May.

Amazon Prime Video Launches Original Kids Series Ronja, the Robber’s Daughter

Amazon’s original series Ronja, the Robber’s Daughter will premiere on Prime Video on Jan. 27 in the U.S. and the UK. The series is based on the children’s fantasy book of the same name by Swedish author Astrid Lindgren.
Ronja, the Robber’s Daughter is a 26-part story of 10-year-old Ronja, who was born in a mountain fort surrounded by her father, mother, and a loving band of robbers. Viewers follow along as she explores and understands key factors of life and love.
The series will be available for Prime members to stream with the Amazon Video app or online at Ronja, the Robber’s Daughter will also be available as part of Amazon FreeTime Unlimited, which is available exclusively on Amazon devices, including Amazon Fire TV and Fire tablets.

Allure, Case-Mate Partner for Co-Branded Selfie Cases

Allure and Case-Mate collaborated to launch a co-branded selfie case. The Allure x Case-Mate selfie case offers adjustable lighting, and can take up to 2,000 selfies on one full charge. It also features dual-layer, impact-resistant drop protection, as well as a built-in, adjustable ring holder for added functionality, security, and style.
The case debuted at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. It will be available for purchase at select retailers in the U.S. and Canada in March in three colors: black, iridescent, and rose gold.

CJ E&M’s Animated Series Rainbow Ruby Secures Global Media Partners

Rainbow Ruby, CJ E&M’s first global original animated series, will expand with new global media partners. The series will launch in South Korea in the first quarter, with EBS and Tooniverse channels secured. The series currently airs on Tooniverse (Asia), RTV (Indonesia), Thai PBS (Thailand), and Yoyo TV (Taiwan). Additional channels are expected to air the series this year.
DHX Media signed 10 broadcast deals with networks across the world, including Family Jr (Canada), TV3 (Ireland), Jim Jam (Benelux), YLE (Finland), NRK (Sweden), Discovery for its Frisbee (Italy), Canal Panda and SIC (Portugal), Hop! Media Group (Israel), MiniMini+ (Poland), and Minika (Turkey).
Rainbow Ruby is a 3D CGI-animated preschool series that follows a 6-year-old girl named Ruby as she transports to Rainbow Village, where her toys come alive and she must take on different professions to solve problems.

Zoofy International, Accessory Innovations Partner for Emojination Inflatable Toys   

Zoofy International LLC partnered with Accessory Innovations (AI) for the AI-created Emojination brand. The agreement grants Zoofy rights to manufacture Emojination-branded inflatable play structures for worldwide distribution. The first products will be introduced at North American International Toy Fair next month.

Global Icons LLC, MCA Corporation Partner to Expand Magic Chef Housewares Collection

Global Icons LLC and MCA Corp. entered an exclusive worldwide (excluding South Korea) representation agreement for the Magic Chef brand. Magic Chef transformed the cooking landscape with the first oven temperature-control device more than a century ago. Magic Chef and Global Icons will develop product for categories including, household electrics, kitchen gadgets, cookware, kitchen textiles, and food.

MasterPieces, Realtree Introduce New Line of Camouflage Puzzles

MasterPieces Inc. and Realtree partnered for a new line of Realtree camouflage puzzles. The puzzles combine original woodland scenes with camouflage patterns for a line of 1,000-piece puzzle sets. 
The first four puzzles in the line include North American animals in forest scenes, as well as cabin and fishing scenes. The new puzzles will be on display at the North American International Toy Fair next month, with anticipated retail availability this spring.

Pepperidge Farm, New York International Children’s Film Festival Launch Online Animation Contest

Pepperidge Farm partnered with New York International Children’s Film Festival for the Goldfish Tales Animation Xperience Contest. As a sponsor of New York International Children’s Film Festival, Goldfish Colors will provide on-site activities and free samples during the March Festival, as well as present the online filmmaking contest.
Now through Feb. 27, the contest encourages families across the country to create and submit stop-motion animation videos starring Goldfish crackers at Parents can enter their families’ 60-second creations for a chance to win.
During the month of March, all submissions will be reviewed by an independent judging committee, which includes a member of the New York International Children’s Film Festival and a Goldfish brand representative. Entries will be evaluated in four categories: Best Use of Goldfish, Best Story, Best Film by Up-and-Coming Animators, and Best Overall Film.
On April 21, Goldfish will host an online awards show, in which the winners from each category will be announced. There will be four grand prizes in which each recipient will receive $5,000, and 12 nominee prizes in which each recipient will receive a gift bag with an Animation Xperience cinch bag, Goldfish Colors crackers, an octopus style portable and adjustable tripod, and a Stoopid Buddy Stoodios DVD.

NECA Announces New Line of Blade Runner 2049 Action Figures and Collectibles 

NECA acquired the licensing rights to create a range of products based on Blade Runner 2049, the sequel to the 1980s science fiction film Blade Runner, which will premiere this October. The line will include figures, die-cast vehicles, replicas, games, and more. Additional details will be revealed at North American International Toy Fair next month.

The ideal candidate will possess experience within either Toy AND/OR Publishing licensing experience.
GENERAL SUMMARY: Creates strategic direction for active licensee base and negotiates new partnerships within assigned categories to achieve growth objectives.   Directs tactical execution of licensed product lines from concept/line plan through commercialization.  


  • Manage existing licensees in assigned categories: 
    • Evaluate licensee’s quarterly marketing, retail and financial forecasts to ensure licensees on are track to meet established contractual obligations, royalty payments and forecast goals.
    • Organize and run licensee orientations, business reviews, semiannual/quarterly line reviews, and brain storm sessions.
    • Address specific licensee performance issues
    • Negotiate renewals on a timely basis
    • Provides input for annual departmental budget and plan
  • Ensure licensees develop seasonal lines in time for internal seasonal review and develop documents and presentations to communicate licensee’s initiatives to internal Crayola departments
    • Set trend direction and make recommendations for new product entry
    • Direct category research and product concept testing as needed with the consumer insights team
    • Work with creative and product development on design and creative direction for licensed product and packaging
    • Responsible for managing licensee press releases, cross marketing and promotions
    • Ensure adherence to internal approval process (i.e. safety, quality, financial, legal, content, creative, consumer activation, consumer affairs etc.) and assist in resolving issues.
  • Negotiate new licensed strategic partnerships for assigned segments in conjunction with established category strategies
    • Research, secure and develop new licensees building upon the success of existing segments in order to achieve predictable, profitable and sustainable growth
    • Negotiate deal terms including: grant of rights, royalty rates, guarantees, projections and business plans
  • 7 years’ experience in licensing or consumer marketing work for a CPG company.
  • Bachelors’ degree preferred

I have 8 years experience of working for a large London Publishing house licensing book content to third parties. I am looking for a role which utilises my skills in negotiation and relationship building and can develop my experience within the licensing field. Having licensed book content to a wide variety of customers from national Newspapers to international Publishers I would relish the experience to work in a new industry, licensing new content to new clients.
I realise that a move across from traditional publishing may mean a step down from the managerial role I was in before. I'm enthusiastic to work in a new industry and feel my skills are easily transferable and am happy to look outside licensing roles also.
